Best black ink out there!
Best black ink on the market for watercolor IMO. Best black for tattoo flash hands down. Pairs great with Arches cold press paper, just don’t spill it!!! You’ll never clean it up. I recommend using an old paint bottle with this stuff, bc there’s no eye dropper to get the paint out. I take a little bit at a time.

best paint ever!
This was my first time using India ink with my kids for an art project. The ink is so satisfying to use. Goes on smoothly, a little goes a long way, and the color is so crisp. Will *never* use acrylic black paint to line projects again.Highly recommend!

Great Ink For Tattoos At Home
I specifically looked for an India ink that could double as pen ink but also was safe to tattoo myself with and my research ended on this one. It does the job. My stick and poke is still here 5+ years later!

I kinda like it, but...
It is water resistant, and maybe waterproof if you wait long enough and let the layers of waterpaint or ink paint dry inbetween layers. If you try to paint 20minutes after you put it down with water paint it has a 50% chance of smearing if you use to much water or you had used to much ink when doing line work.My only problem was using this with my glass dip pen. It's to thick to come off the glass dip pen correctly (For my pen at least every glass pen is different) So I had to dilute my ink with water to get it to flow somewhat correctly. So I can't just use it right out the bottle I need to find the right consistency for my dip pen for it to flow and sometimes I get it a little to thin. I do like it, I'll use up my 2 oz because it is indeed good ink.pros-black before thinning out so you can get an array of blacks to grays for ink drawings.it is in fact water resistant. -it's notit is sealed with a tab so it doesn't spill out when you recieve it.cons-can be to thick for glass dip pens -completely to thickif using a glass dip pen you will need a brush (i use a eyeshadow make up brush) to clean the crevices of your glass pen because this ink loves to holy snickers stick in the grooves.if you forget to buy the cleaner or your out of it, just use dish soap and vinegar mixer, it cleans your hands and glass dip pen pretty well. The only reason i'm giving this 4 stars is because of I have to spend 10 minutes trying to get the right consistency for a glass dip pen. You get pretty good ink for the price you pay. Just be aware this ink doesn't seem to work with glass pens well unless you dilute it. I don't own a metal dip pen so I don't know if it works well with the metal onesedit: For the love of everything holy and unholy, do not use this with glass pens, don't even use it for anything but brush stuff. What I thought was water resistant is definately not. ohhh the water smudges when I went back some month old art I made with this ink to add a bit of that cool ink with gold speckles in it that came with my glass pen. If you want to use this ink, use it with their brand name dip pens. I'll still give it 4 stars since it did not say it was for glass dip pens. but it is NOT WATER PROOF OR WATER RESISTANT don't ruin your artwork like me

Good ink if you like ink on everything
Why did my teenager want India ink? Cause the neighbor gave him turkey feathers and apparently he lives in 1763 and he needed to write with quills. He is horrible at writing with a quill but the ink is waterproof. It’s laundry soap proof it’s pretty indestructible. It doesn’t come out of clothes it doesn’t come out of carpets. It doesn’t come off of anything. It dries fairly quickly, but he still covered everything in it because he did not understand how ink works. He said it’s horrible and why would he use it? It does exactly what it’s supposed to. If he were not going into mechanics perhaps an artist it would be great. Word of warning keep the feathers away from 16 year-old.

Trust this ink
I feel I can trust anything from speedball. I bought this ink for line work on paper. The color was opaque enough and a great quality.

Fantastic quality product.
This is a great product for what I use it for, I am sure a fair amount of people use it for their ink pens. I however use it to polish my black leather shoes, and various other weird things.I used to buy the cans of black leather shoe polish, that was a pain and it never got the leather to shine like I desired. As an experiment I tried applying India ink with a paper towel, and it put a high shine on my boots without any polishing required. It also obliterated any faded areas. That was nearly ten years ago and my boots are still going strong. I apply a coat about once a year minimum, and I will do a light coat before an important event. A quick rub on my black pants will bring a high shine when I am in a hurry. Two things wear gloves before applying, and let them dry for at least 5 mins before wearing them. A 2 ounce can will last me 5 years or so for one pair of boots.I have also used this ink to highlight scrimshaw, and in a few cases to create a faux ebony stain on certain woods. I emulsified it with turpentine to stain white suede black.Great high quality product.

Good quality ink for a good price
This is good quality ink at a good price. I purchased several bottles of this for a class project where I asked students to practice writing with dip pens. We soon learned how messy writing must have been in the 19th century! (This is not the ink's fault, of course!). The good thing about this ink is that, even if you get it all over your hands, it washes off easily. Yet, it also nice and dark and goes down smoothly on the page. It also dries easily. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that I wish it had a bit more of the quality of gel ink, if that's something you can get in bottle form. That would just give it a little bit extra body for writing with a dip pen.
