I started using Rocknroll gold when I got my Specialized Tarmac SL7 in March 2023. It's now November of 2025, and I have put just over 8,500 miles on the original chain and it's just now gotten to the 0.5 chain wear indication. Worth noting that I try and avoid using the bike in bad weather, I've maybe ridden it in the rain 10 times. The application instructions are very straightforward and easy, apply a generous amount, get all the excess off with a rag, ideally let it sit overnight, and you're good to go. I typically reapply every 100-200 miles. Highly recommend Rocknroll gold!

Easy to apply. Start with a clean, dry chain and soak it with the stuff and wipe it off with a cloth, paper towel, what ever. Let it sit overnight. Good for about 50 to 100 miles depending on conditions. Keeps the chain clean, jest re applyPros: Easy to apply, Keeps the chain clean and pretty smooth.Cons: Does not last very long. You can use a lot of it during an application if you want.

Great lube and cleaner w/o arrosal. Doesn't gunk up, easy to use, not as oily as other lubes.

I personally tried for quite a while to avoid bicycle-specific chain lubricant. I didn't want to have another speciality oil laying around. Gun oil would work for a bit and then get super nasty and require deep cleaning. WD-40 would also attract a ton of dirt. I tried a couple other general lubes and got mediocre results.The killer app for RNR is that you can use it in lieu of cleaning for 3 "cycles" before you will need to degrease and re-oil. Even after a deep clean of the chain and drive (and of course after drying) RNR will somehow find more black reside to squeeze out of the chain and into the 3 paper towels I use for each application.Having a perfectly silent drivetrain for a couple hundred miles at a time in a variety of conditions is great. This 3x size is excellent for having at home, in your frame bag, and a spare.

A lot of good things have been said about this chain lube. I have tried different lubes before Rock N Roll and this is the one I keep using. Once you have cleaned your chain thoroughly and removed any previous lubricants, you liberally apply Rock N Roll every few rides. I usually do it every 100 miles but your mileage may vary :-)Two things I love most about this lube:1. It does not attract dirt and grime the way other oil-based lubes do (I'm not talking about wax).2. Shifting feels super smooth and is noticeably quieter than before.Waxing your chain may be another good option from what I hear but who wants to deal with that extra hassle if you can just squirt Rock N Roll on and be done in a couple of minutes. Try it out. It's a solid product. My bike shop uses it, too.
