I purchased these to replace an almost identical product. The only real difference is this one can cycle through light effects (button on the plug that says 'press') whereas the predecessor was a steady on and that was it. I use these for lighting in my living room as there is no overhead lighting otherwise.I have attached pictures. The first is from before I hung the new string of lights. In this photo the string I replaced is on the right - note how dim it is compared to the string on the left. The less luminous right side is after 4 years of regular use. The lights have dimmed, which is why I purchased a new set. Photo 2 you can see the new lights up and they look great.The lights came rolled on a plastic wheel, which made installation a breeze. No tangling. No fuss. (Friendly reminder: always remember to plug your lights in right out of the box prior to install to make sure they work.)I hope I will get at least 4 good years out of these. For the price (about $26) I feel this is a great deal. I see no real surge in my electric bill using these and since I am often nocturnal they will see many hours of use.Please note, I only use these when it is overcast out or at night. Daytime when it is bright I just open my curtains. This may sound obvious, but I mention this because these lights are not a direct overhead light and therefore do not emit as much light. So don't expect this to take the place of daylight bulbs or fluorescents. The first 2 photos were taken with my daylight bulbs in the kitchen (left of photo, open floorplan) on. The third photo was taken with the kitchen lights off.I find that these lights prevent eye strain and have reduced my instances of headaches.I also noticed they remember the last light setting used even if unplugged and plugged back in. The other string of lights currently up alongside it does not hold the last setting and has to be reset everytime (a mild but chronic annoyance). So I am very pleased that this set will not require constant resetting everytime I plug them in.I use those removable 3M hooks to hang the lights. Occasionally the hooks come off (especially in hot humid summers) and a sections falls. So if you don't mind putting little screw-in hooks in your walls I'd recommend that. I rent so I try to never put holes in walls where and when I can.If you're on the fence about these the last bit I can offer is this: I find this type of lighting extremely comforting and relaxing. This helps with my depression and anxiety, which was not something I expected but am incredibly grateful for.

I love these lights! They are super light but so bright! I needed lights that were long enough for my large patio and these are perfect! The price was great as well! Very affordable for such a great quality! They are very bright and a gorgeous color that lights up the whole patio. My dogs love sitting out there and enjoying them!

These have lasted me for 3 Christmases. They are a little more LEDish than traditional multicolor lights obviously, so might not pair well with those, but they work well. The plastic will turn brownish after a season but doesn't affect light quality. Really happy with length

The media could not be loaded. We LOVED these lights. Unfortunately we have lots of rabbits in our neighborhood and they were only up for 2 days before the rabbits chewed through them and they no longer worked. When we have used lights with the thick green coating on the wires in the past we have not had issues with rabbits being able to eat through them but all 3 strands were eaten up in 2 days of putting them out. I was so sad because they looked so good! I’d definitely buy them again as long as we were hanging them indoors or away from the ground where animals couldn’t get to them. They were very bright, worked really well and vibrant color

Lights were used inside on Christmas tree. Bright, pleasant, delightful to look at. I have a huge tree that spans out nearly 5'. This one string, may have wrapped around my tree 3 to 4 times! Last year I used other lights I already had, along with this string. This string stood out against the other lights!This year, I only used this string of purple lights & my tree was still very elegant. I received many compliments. I also love the many different settings you can use. My favorite is a slow to rapid twinkle. Last year, because they were new, I would change the settings looking for my favorite. The memory setting from last year saved, so I had to change nothing. Just turn on. Love that feature! Will purchase again, probably will use inside like before.

These lights are really beautiful. They're very lightweight, and the LED displays are very small but also very bright. I put these on a giant maple tree in my front yard and it looked SO good. They have several modes you can cycle through with a simple button near the electrical plug. After a rain, the lights quit working. I was very disappointed not only because they quit working but with only a few weeks until Christmas I thought I'd likely end up doing without. Fortunately, I emailed the company and they responded within just a few minutes. They were very helpful and offered to replace the lights for me. I'm looking forward to installing the new ones! Fingers crossed that this time they last.

I'm impressed with how much I can wrap per role. Although the wire is thin and may be a bit more fragile than I would like, it is very bright. I'm not a fan of the settings that are given for the lights and flashing.Example: I want them to just twinkle but after a few seconds it starts to flash and blink and do other things. Needs a twinkle only setting.

Lights are nice but the mode reset once turned off and its a hassle.

Lights are bright and the multi settings for the lights is a bonus. We have them stringed along our back fence. They did stop working in less than 3 months however Mygotos customer service is awesome and they sent us new ones right away! So fast to respond and ship! I would highly recommend these and will purchase again from Mygoto when we look to add more to our yard!

No remote control, but the lighting is exactly what I was looking for. It is not hard on the eyes, but creates a great ambience, bright enough for subtle lighting. Can be doubled ti add extra brightness.

Nice price for the length. Looks really good. Has a few different settings on the plug. No remote. Does not have a connector on the end to attach another light string to.
