With 5 kids ages 1 to 18 PLATES BREAK! Same with cups, bowls, smaller plates, you get the idea... EVERYTHING BREAKS. The kids "toss" the plates into the sink a little too hard and boom smack against another plate (break), kids bump into the wall or doorframe with plates (yup they break), kids drop plates while putting them away from being washed (im guilty here too and have dropped a few over years... broke yet again), & lastly while clearly plates ahouldnt be thrown or tossed on purpose or stood on by small little feet (yup the baby a little over 1 YEARS old have done this and BROKEN the plates... even the Corelle walmart UNBREAKABLE plates for TWICE THE PRICE AS THESE have been broken by her - my 1 yr old). BEFORE anyone thinks just watch your kids or be careful... things happen and trust me if I could have my 2 eyeballs on 5 kids while taking care of my mother also I would... its not fun spending money to REPLACE THINGS when they could have lasted and that money could have been saved or used for something else. I try my best, but that said, over the years my kids and I have broken plates, unbreakable plates, & walmarts most reccomended even on social media/like facebook - Corelle UNBREAKABLE PLATES... They ALL break.These AMAZON PLATES that Im reviewing, are so THICK yet lightweight that I can tell they WILL HOLD UP. Its hard to explain, but they are built to last even with 5 crazy kids.People on facebook suggested going to the dollar store or getting walmarts cheap 50cents each plastic plates instead. The dollar stores plates MELT even at 30 seconds in our microwave so eventhough they say microwave safe they arent and they break as well. The 50cent walmart ones can litterally be seen through and are not built to last so do NOT buy them.These plates are AMAZING and I am VERY happy that I ordered them. They will withstand my kids and they wash great and work great in the microwave! These are definately worth buying. Plus they are in fun colors that all my kids like minus my 18 yr old son... he doesnt care about the color, he just wants to use the plate. And he said he was shocked that they work as good as the other plates did before they broke. He didnt have faith in these plastic plates when I showed him I ordered them. 😂 He has since used them, microwaved them, & cleaned them. He said ALWAYS buy these.Picture is TACO SOUP I made in the crockpot in one the bowls with the plate set. Straight from the crockpot. Did NOT melt or harm it in any way.

I like these. They almost seem like rubber and there’s no shine to them. Got them to put under caladium pots in the garden.They seem very substantial.

I got these to use for a Mexican-themed party. The price was comparable to disposable plates, but I figured more colorful and sturdy so I gave them a chance. They say dishwasher safe, but look to be thin and I don't think I'll take my chances - handwashing for me. The color and size are pleasant - and they absolutely held up during the party. Overall pleased with the purchase.

These plates were exactly what I was looking for. Good size, bright colors, reusable, sturdy. As fas a durability, time will tell (I’ve only had them for a month), but so far so good. They have gone in the microwave and the dishwasher machine (even in the lower rack) and they are holding up just fine. I would definitely recommend this product to anybody looking for a cheap solution to everyday use, picnics, eating snacks or just when you don’t want to use your regular plates. These plates just fit the bill!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Good quality, returned them, no longer needed.

The colors are fun and the size is good but these plates are pretty thin - not as thin as paper plates but about as thick as 2 thick paper plates. I was hoping these were a bit more sturdy. If you put heavy items on the plate, be sure and support it from the bottom. I bought some smaller plates with raised edges and those are thick and solid. These not so much but if you're looking for an alternative to paper plates, these will work. I've used them in the microwave and put in the dishwasher and they are fine.

I love these beautifully colored plate sets 🍽.. lightweight, easy to clean, and my favorite, they're microwavable. I recommend having a set for each grandchild. Convenient colors work well in settling arguments as to who left food on the plate 😁
