Very useful and informative. A useful tool in many different readings
I absolutely love this book! It very quickly became my go to for all of the tarot readings I do. It has descriptions for all major arcana, minor arcana and court cards for general readings, love readings and career readings. It shows the reverse meaning, the overall meaning of the energy of the card as well as a description of the artwork and symbolism and also offers spiritual advice meaning for each card. I was also happy to find that it contains some examples of different card spreads and the meaning of each card position. I never do a reading without it!

Great Instruction and Reference Book for a Beginner like me
I am extremely happy with this Tarot card reading book. It has been criticized for being simplistic; well, I like it that way. As a beginner the number of cards to learn and the different meanings seemed overwhelming. Jessica made it understandable by giving us the basic meanings of the cards. To me this is not overly simplistic. I myself can pick up on the nuances of meanings and put them in context, I just wanted some instruction as to where to begin with the cards.Okay, so the format of the book is beautiful with lots of color and thick pages. What I especially like is, I bought a tarot book prior to this one and the cards were not shown in the description of the card, so I had to find the card in my deck, which I had already shuffled, to see the picture on the card. With Jessica's book there is a color picture of each card on the page with the description. Then she gives a very brief explanation of the card, which hits right at the heart of the meaning of the card, and then elaborates on that with how to apply the card in the context of a love, work/career, or personal/spiritual spread and then how that meaning changes if the card is reversed (I'm saving the reversal meanings for after I get the upright meanings.)This book gives me everything I need to get acquainted with the cards and begin to develop communication with my intuition and my loving and amazing guiding forces. Definitely would recommend for beginners wanting to do the same.

AMAZING FOR STARTING OUT
I love this book! It’s easy to understand has the information separated and organized perfectly for looking back. My only recommendation -and this has nothing to do with the book- read the book before you buy your cards. I had my cards first, and I love them, but the book includes information that may be helpful before making that purchase. I wish I could call author directly and thank her!

ABSOLUTELY MEANT FOR ME
What a beautiful book that I needed so desperately. I have started on a journey to help myself find joy, peace, love and comfort which have eluded me for eons. I decided to explore the Tarot cards and find that this is such a wonderful, intuitive and honest look at where you have been, where you are now and how to move forward to a new and positive future. I desperately needed a lifeline, and this book has done that in such a short period of time. I feel at one with this book and it is written with love and peace and such detail that is easy to read, understand and use for my personal destination. Thank you for such a wonderful book that will be changing one life for the better ** Mine. Happy day!

A little Wordy but informational
There are In Depth meanings for each card which is very helpful. The book isn't written professionally. It sounds more like just personal conversation like in these reviews. I'm a D in the DISC personality profiles so I just want to get to the point. Maybe used bullet points and such. It works better for training someone. It's like looking at an online recipe and hearing the authors stories. Not interested, I just want the recipe.

So good... A completely approachable book by which to approach the Tarot.
reading this book is like having a good friend show you around a Tarot deck. The author is warm and welcoming. There's no heavy-handed spirituality here, so feel free to come with whatever beliefs you have and get down to what Tarot is all about.I feel like the card meanings are well thought out as well.Would have liked a little more about the numerology that runs through the Minor Arcana. It's mentioned but not in detail, and I'd love to hear her take on it.Thanks for the great read!

Excellent Reference Resource
I'm fairly new to Tarot, and I bought a few books (because I couldn't tell which one I would like best). I spent some time working and reading through each book. This one resonated the most with me, I'm drawn to the elements, and this book ties to that. This book is also an easy read, the author gives personal experiences and share's what works for her, but reminds you that this is your journey and encourages you to follow your intuition and your own path; she is simply providing guidance. I like how she laid out the book as well, at the back is a Quick Reference guide providing hi-level Card Meaning Charts (which I started using and adding my own notes to, I also used the blank pages in the back to add my own element notes to). I quickly saw this book would be primary go to resource. I found this book to be an excellent and well rounded first start and highly recommend to anyone looking for the same.
