Reliable and Comfortable
Honestly this mouth guard has been a life saver for me for a long time. Been using this product for like 6-7 years now. The suction fit style of fitting to your teeth workd really well.Heating it in hot water for 7-10 seconds and then placing in your mouth and sucking all the air and water out so it molds to your teeth is a great design. No bite plate needed. If you get a poor fit you can always heat it up again and refit. I usually dip it in the water 3 times. First time for the basic fit, second to get it more precise, and third to smooth out any of the sharpener edges for more comfort. The tab on the front can easily be removed by submerging it into the hot water and then pulling the plastic so it stretches out and becomes thin enough to pull off. You can then trim any excess off with scissors and then dip just the tab area again to soften the plastic enough to smooth out the rough spot where you cut. works like a charm. As far as how long it lasts that really depends on the person. My teeth grinding varies in severity depending on my stress level. At the worst I've chewed through it in like 2 weeks. Best case it lasts me 3 months, but on average able a month and half. You're mileage may vary.Note that this month guard is pretty bulky. there's a lot of plastic to it and some people may have trouble get a comfy fit if they have a small mouth. you can trim the back down if it's too long though. I would definitely recommend you refit at least once and use your tongue squish the plastic out somewhat on on the roof of your mouth. I usually also take my fingers and press on the outside of my mouth around my gums while i'm getting the suction fitting to spread and thin out the plastic on the outer side. I have a pretty large mouth so the extra bulk is actually pretty good for me and gives me more to chew into. But your experience may be different if you have a smaller mouth. As far as care goes I brush it with tooth paste before putting it in every night and run it under warm water to soften it up a bit to make it more comfy for those first few minutes before my body heat softens it out. I usually rinse it in the morning and then place it in the provided case. The case has some small holes in it to allow the mouth guard to dry.Overall I have had a fantastic experience with this product and have recommended it to friends who have also loved them. I like to keep a decent stock of them cuz I'm a bit paranoid about running out. The 2 pack is really nice though. I like the case that comes with, my only gripe is that the lid is hard to open if you snap it all the way shut. If you have poor strength in your fingers I highly recommend you don't latch the lid.

Amazing!
Your search is over! This is an excellent product, the guard is made from a thermo-plastic with a low melting temperature, which makes this guard the best on the market. This works by boiling water and sinking it 10 seconds on the boiling water, after you pull it out, you put it in your mouth on you upper teeth by pushing it with your tongue and sucking all air out of you mouth creating a vacuum. Make sure you don't bite it as the instructions say, otherwise you will defy the purpose of the guard by squeezing and making the plastic thinner (u dont want that). Of course the guard is hot when you put it in your mouth, but it doesn't burn, its just a bit hot. After 20 seconds of keeping it inside your mouth, it will be perfectly molded to your teeth, just like a dentist's guard, wash it off with cool water to harden the plastic a bit more, and your all set to go!You can repeat the process until your happy with the guard's fit, however, the more times you do it, the more it will lose its shape, its better to get it right on the 1st or 2nd try.It even comes with a holder, which is quite practical, since it will help you keep it clean and safe. If you grind your teeth, this will help you loads! This works for extreme grinders and extreme tense jaws, the polycarbonate used on the guard is of great quality and wont wear off easily. This is so cheap and efficient compared to the expensive dentist's guards and I recommend it, and the pack comes with 2 guards!

Works well, but follow the molding process as stated
The package comes with two grind guards. Last night I proceeded to mold one of the guards per the package directions, but I guess I erred. I followed all directions, but left the guard a couple of seconds longer in the hot water before inserting it and placing it on the upper teeth. That was a mistake! The two or three extra seconds the guard spent in the hot water ruined the guard. When I attempted to mold it to my upper teeth, the guard discombobulated into an amorphous butterfly like shape. The guard literally spread outwards against the roof of my mouth. There was no way I could remold the misshapen mess, though I did try.Having learned my lesson, I was a lot more precise in the amount of time I left the second guard in the hot water before molding it to my upper teeth. I had no problem with the second guard. I left it in the hot water for EXACTLY 8 seconds, and that was enough.I wore the guard last night. It fit my mouth well, and I had no trouble sleeping with it on, nor did I have jaw pain from wearing the guard in the morning. I did have a nasty plastic taste in my mouth in the morning though, so who knows what chemicals I am swallowing down my throat as I sleep; but until I get this bruxism under control I'll have to wear it.So far, it's working well. Who knows how it will hold up. The ventilated case that is provided is nice and convenient. In the morning I simply washed the guard in soap and water, dried it, and placed it in its case.4 Stars, since the fact that I ruined the first guard was MY fault, not the manufacturer's.
