KaiyodoRevoltech Series No. 013 - Neon Genesis Evangelion Non Scale Pre-Painted PVC Figure: EVA-04 Production Model

Let me start this off by saying this: as someone who's owned the older "original" Evangelion series of action figures (Units 00 Blue, 01, 02, 03, 04, and MP Evas), this figure leaves a lot to be desired.Posability and Fragility:While the original figures had limited posability, the severely decreased size and potential fragility of this version are not adequate trade offs for the increased posing options of the Revoltech system. Firstly, in my initial attempt to pose the figure out of the box, the right leg broke off at the thigh rotation joint. I will likely have to super-glue the leg back on and it will no longer be able to rotate at the upper leg/hip joint. This is a major point of contention and serious detractor of an otherwise very polished product.Sculpt:The sculpt of the figure is quite impressive despite the small size. The details present in the figure, especially the head, are very clear and defined for the size and that's definitely a positive selling point of this figure.Size:This figure stands at barely 5.5" tall at the tips of the shoulder fins. This means that the figure will be dwarfed by 6" figures such as the ones made by Hasbro for their Marvel Legends line, and also puts this figure at about 2.5" to 3" shorter than its "original" counterpart (the "original" Eva figures were the ones produced on blister cards in the 90's or were re-released later in "Launch Tube" packaging). Personally, this figure is too small for my liking, but that is not a factor for my final review.Accessories:This figure comes with an impressive array of accessories, to include several sets of various hands, a bazooka, a riot shield, a tonfa, and a SMG. That said, this figure is lacking for "standard" Eva weaponry such as a Pallet Rifle, Progressive Knife, Progressive Spear, Lance of Longinus, etc. While the number of accessories is sizable, they seem more "police officer" than true Evangelion. Also, this unit does NOT come with a stand.Overall Assessment:This iteration of Unit-04 is detailed and well sculpted with a nice selection of accessories. However, the leg joint fragility and stiffness added to the lack of "standard Evangelion" accessories are pretty big negatives for this figure. While size may be an issue for some and not for others, it will not cut the most impressive of displays on a shelf unless you get creative with display options. The lack of a display stand will also mean your posing options may be limited unless, again, you find a way to get creative with it.

急に思い立ち　手に入れましたが，ほかのEVAと並べて、またポージングさせて子供たちと遊んでいます。ありがとうございました。

発売から8年たったいま買うと股関節が癒着してまともに動かないものやリボ玉の軸が劣化でポッキリ折れるものがあるので注意が必要です

エヴァンゲリオンシリーズもこれで6番目になるわけですが、ここに来てなぜか、付属する武器が参号機と全く同じというかなりがっかりな事になっています。カラーリングにシルバーを使う分コストが上がってしまうんでしょうか?　しかし顔と色以外全部使い回しっていうのはいかがなものか…アクションフィギュアとしてみれば申し分ないんですが、似たようなのがあんまり増えすぎるっていうのも考え物だと思います。このシリーズ、安いし良く動くんですがこういう細かいところがちょっと残念ですね。それでも値段相応の価値は確実にあると思います。
