Rogue Half Helmet

I'm used to wearing full face and 3/4 shells. This is a good mix of both. I usually sport a Daytona 3/4 which is extremely low profile yet still dot approved so this looked a little on the large side. I tried it on and was thinking hmmm....... I might be sending this back. Put it up on the shelf next to my fulls and realized it's actually a little smaller. Got me to thinking "ok just give it a few days to grow on you." Now I grab this before any of my other helmets. It's very comfortable, sound is on par with my 3/4 but the bugs and rocks don't hit me anymore.There's no lift at 70 mph which is about my fastest preferred speed. Brought it up to 85 just to see and still no lift. The face plate lifts off real easy and clips back in almost on it's own. It's just a great blend of half and full. I wear Global Vision Kickback glasses and these fit in perfectly and don't fog up. So if you're thinking about this helmet and can afford the $250 price tag all I can tell you is,"Go for it!". Most of my buds think it's bad ass and I have people asking where I got it all the time. The shops around here are kind of prudish when it comes to the newer models unless they're the uber expensive kind so I had to order online. I bought an extra large and my other helmets are GMax GM 54S, Speed and Strength SS1000, and a Daytona 3/4 for anyone who might need size reference they are extra large as well. I'm 6' 2" tall and 175lbs.

I had been looking for a new helmet to wear during a hot humid summer. I had a full face that was working, but as the days became more humid there just was not enough air in there to make the ride enjoyable. So the search began. I looked all over the place. I was not a huge fan of the 3/4 open face helmets and the true 1/2 helmets seem to be pulled back by the wind and apply pressure on my throat. The moment I spied this helmet I was in. Hook, line, and sinker I had to have it. There was too many pro's on why I should have it. I haven't seen anyone else with it which was a huge plus. The real deal was that it combines a lot of awesome things from so many helmets. The protection level of a 1/2 , the comfort of a 3/4, and it's own type of style. The front piece coming on and off was awesome. I read in some reviews that people have to take it entirely off to put the helmet on and take it off. In my case, this is not true. I just undo one side and it comes on and off with ease. The looks I get riding around the city are awesome. This one of a kind helmet flows so well with my Breakout. People cant help but stop and stare. All in all I am very very happy with this helmet. The sizing was true. I used a fabric measuring tape and got my size then ordered based off the chart. I have Prime so it came very quickly. I ripped it out of the box and had to immediately go for a ride. I noticed when I put it on the first time the front side on top was a little abrasive. Right where the removable liner and the actual helmet meet it is rough, but I pulled the liner down just a little bit further and that fixed that issue. The air flow through the helmet was good. Very little drag on the head. Now all I need to do is get some speakers to put in there and get lost and find my soul.

The muzzle was so uncomfortable and flimsy and hard to get on, and it felt like plastic digging into the bridge of my nose. I thought by the price of it that it'd be a lot better quality. The 3/4ths helmet portion was fine quality and comfortable enough, but I bought it because I thought it looked cool with the muzzle. I realized immediately that I'd never be able to ride it with the muzzle on, so returned. The price is way too high for what was essentially going to only be a 3/4ths helmet for me.

I just got the helmet and did all the adjusting so the face mask sits right. For all those who have trouble with it pushing your nose, you have to loosen the screws on the mask, remove the air box liner, and then adjust it while it's on your face. Once you get that perfect, you tighten (lightly) the screws, and put the liner back in. Notice the velcro on the liner will stick anywhere inside the face mask? That means you can raise the liner up or lower it down inside the mask so it fits your face. I had to push it in almost to the top. The liner sits about an inch above the plastic mask on mine and that's just fine. It doesn't have to be perfect or all the way inside the mask. This thing is to protect your nose and face from cold wind when you put it in the mask. Then I used the bendy nose adjustment to make it just right. My mask is three clicks in on both sides, like the manual says. I found the helmet to be a bit hot and my head was sweaty immediately. I'm used to supermoto helmets for road riding and MX helmets for off-road. With my Arai motard helmet (an $800 helmet I've been using on the road), there is plenty of ventilation off the top of your head with adjustable vent holes on the top of the helmet in three places. This Rogue does not have any venting on the top, thus it's hot on your head. The mask is flimsy compared to my Arai's chin strap, and there is no shield on the Rogue either, so when the hail, rain, gravel, giant grasshopper swarm begins, you're screwed. But hey, it looks cool. I think the Rogue is a bit large on the head, but I guess that's okay. I haven't ridden with this helmet yet, so hopefully there is some venting when the wind is in my face. I'll probably wear my Arai on long runs or when the weather is iffy, but this is a true cruiser looking brain bin. I gave the rating a lower star count for not having a shield, and the buckle strap is way too long with a pain for a snap that doesn't want to snap easy. For $250, this helmet should have had a retractable shield and some ventilation on the top of the helmet. The easy off mask, cool looks, and DOT approval is three stars. Update: Took a ride this afternoon. The field of vision with this helmet is great, and the wind keeps the head cool. I'm used to a visor, so I had a little difficulty with the sun in my face, but it was all good. The more I wear it, the more I will like the feel and field of vision. Second Update: I've been wearing the helmet for a while now. There are two things I have decided I don't like. One - is the strap and where it cinches up under my chin. It's not cinching up in the right place and no matter how I adjust the helmet placement on my head, it's not right. I've just gotten used to it. Two - the helmet is HUGE on my head. Totally mushroom head or space suit size look. My family says it looks lame and I should go back to my Arai. I like the wind in my face from the open face design, so I ordered an Outlaw brain bucket with retractable shades. I have had compliments from other riders when I wear the face mask on the Rogue, but whenever I catch my reflection in a glass door or wherever, the dumb thing just looks ridiculously large. Oh well.

had the unfortunate event of getting into a motorcycle accident. Nothing terrible, most severe injury was a broken scaphoid. In the moment of the accident a million things run through your head, I was conscious of all possible dangers like the impact, where my body was going, where my bike was going, is the truck behind me going to stop in time. But the most relevant to this review was 'is my head going to slam into the asphalt or the cars around me'. unfortunately it did slam into the ground. I am a former Marine and am very accustomed to wearing helmets and the feeling of objects hitting it, it was never a comfortable feeling. However as my head hit the asphalt there was almost a very comforting thought that ran through, it was almost 'springy' and not dramatically so that I get whiplash, just enough to where it wasn't a bad experience. I know this might sound weird but considering I might have suffered a TBI, I feel like this helmet did its job very well. I didn't hit the face guard though and wouldn't expect it to do much protection against impact due to the fact that it is flimsy, but might have protected from road rash to the face. It does however do great for that annoying rock bee dirt or any other random flying object that will hit you in the face. Plus it looks awesome, like your about to go kick down doors, the looks you get with this helmet is priceless. Great helmet! Safe riding!

I ordered the XXL for riding my vintage bike because it looks different. The helmet fits, but even the XXL is a bit tight. I'm guessing it is supposed to be and will hopefully stretch a tiny bit after breaking it in. The reason it's not getting 5 stars is the face mask. It is hard to put on while wearing and pushes on the bridge of my nose when attached. I can wear it loose, but that is the only spot it touches when attached. I'm probably going to do a little modification to that part since it is not a safety feature (as stated in the manual) and won't be comfortable to wear without it. It does work with the goggles I bought and will be an interesting look when riding.

Very nice and well made helmet , and I do like the look of it but there was two issues I did have with this product thou . The first one was a bit uncomfortable sharp edge on the inner "protection shell" (don't know how to describe it in a better way) on the forehead/temple area which I got rid of by giving those areas a firm massage by using my thumbs . The second issue are those short adjustment strips for the face mask that comes along with the helmet . The are a bit too short in my case , and I guess I'm not the only one having that problem , when using the "inner protection mask" . My suggestion is to advice buyers outside the US to order those two longer adjustment straps at the same time they are buying that helmet or , adding those few extra bucks , sell the helmet straight away adding those two longer adjustment straps . The reason why is to avoid what happened to me when I had to order those straps afterwards and had to find out that the handling/shipping plus toll/taxes did cost about six times more than the product itself . Annoying , because I really needed those longer straps o be able to use that helmet together with that face mask full out . Beside that , I really like that helmet a lot . . Short version: the helmet is great, fits great and looks good... the face shield however needs to go back to the drawing board. Unless you have no nose, or a face like a pug, this helmet is not for you. I put the helmet on first, it fit perfectly. Then tried to attach the face shield and seriously struggled. I had to take out the ear pieces to allow more room for the face shield too BARELY attach. Realizing the latches where it hooks onto the helmet were hardly holding in, I then took the padding out of the face shield too see if that would help. It was easier to attach but still was pushing my nose into my face.
