Safety 1st Flat Step Pressure Mounted Baby Gates for Doorways, Baby Gate with Door, Pet-Friendly Design, White

Love these baby gates. My doorways are a little too wide for them, by 3/4 inch, so I use wall nannys to make them fit. They're not easy to install (takes maybe 15 minutes), but once they're in, they're good. The door stays open if you open it all the way. The bar on the bottom is flat enough that it's not much of a trip hazard. The locking mechanism feels sturdy. I'm so relieved to finally have good baby gates. Our last one had an opening that was too narrow for my mom bod. This one is perfect.

I like this gate I think it looks beautiful and clean feels sturdy. The flat step was the reason I gravitated towards this item because in the past at other people’s houses I would always hate the step over. I would say be mindful of your door frame because this gate only fits the standard door otherwise you need to purchase additional extensions. Install was very easy you literally just put it on the door frame and twist the knobs in. The handle to Open and close is hard to use at first my brother says it’s “adult proof” but I don’t have a problem with it and my 9 year old nephews are able to open and close it just fine. The gate is also high enough I am able to still hop over if I need.So far so good, I’ll wait to see if I run into issues the other reviewers have

I like the height of this baby gate because I can walk over if needed. It is installed in the hallway before the kitchen and it prevents my dog and 1 yr old from getting in. My only complaint is that the security feature is a little harder to open than other gates.

So I purchased this over the Safety 1st “easy install” pressure mounted gate that I’ve always used due to the fact that it was supposed to be 30” tall. It’s not. It’s less than 28.5”; the other gate is 28” and $44.99 vs this one at $74.99. Even the extra tall and extra wise version of the other is $10 cheaper than this. And I’m not a fan of the locking mechanism on this compared to the other. Definitely not worth the price and will not purchase again.EDIT March 2020: Stars decreased from 3 to 1 because it’s in the garbage. In December 2019, 4 months of rare use, the bottom broke (the plastic piece holding the swinging door to the base) which meant that the door continuously pulled off the bottom frame. Then in February the plastic piece holding the top of the gate in place broke off making it 100% unusable. This gate barely made it 4 months with minimal use whereas other gates I’ve had lasted 5+ YEARS with repeated daily use. Absolutely the worst purchase I’ve made for safety. Disappointed and now looking at other brands.

this gate is hard to open- so I just donated it to goodwill because there is NO way I'm going to be hurting my hands every single time I try to open a gate. However- if I had a little kid I would recommend it because he/she won't be able to open it!

I love it ,it shuts by itself but it doesn't lock when it shuts itself thats the only thing I would say needs to be changed other than that I love it

I bought wall protectors and installed them together and it worked beautifully. Very secure after tightening. Would buy again.

Save your money -- the handle gets extremely hard to open after about a month. I have contacted Customer Support and I am still waiting for the contact link to send them a video of the problem. I am calling them again tomorrow.
