Great money saver
I bought 2 of these fob shells to replace the old beat up fobs for my 2010 camaro SS. The buttons on the old fobs were broken and crumbling apart. You pull the board out of the old fob and insert in the new one. You do the same with the key. No need to have anything programmed because you are using the old electronics. Use the old key and no need to have one cut. Only takes a few minutes. I’m very happy with the purchase

Perfect fit and easy to swap.
This was a perfect fit for my GM key. Changing the internal parts was just a little finicky, but pretty easy. I reused my old key, circuit board, and battery with no issues of fit or functionality.

Not identical
Bought this because my push buttons were breaking on my key. Looks identical, but inside pieces are slightly different, therefore you're not able to assemble it the way it needs to be, for the spring and everything to work. I managed to make it kind of work, but spring and release button aren't functionable. It was made in China, so makes sense it doesn't fit on an American key. Waste of money, luckily only cost $7

It’s okay
First of all this replacement does not have the bow tie so if that’s important don’t get this one. With that being said this shell does not fit perfectly and the key will not lock back into place. It does come apart easily enough a lot better than the factory one. It does however work right so that’s a plus. If you don’t wanna spend a ton of money on a factory one then this is worth the buy.

Great replacement. Need pick and hammer to remove pin to swap key from flip mechanism
I couldn't transfer the whole flipping key mechanism to the new fob because it's not an exact fit. Instead I detached the key from the mechanism by using a hammer and pick to remove the pin.Just a heads up, getting the electronic chip out of the 2012 Chevy Sonic fob was extremely difficult. The original fob does not pry apart - it's a single piece of extremely tough plastic. I spent an hour with wire cutters and had to completely destroy it to get the chip out undamaged.

The base of the metal key was not identical to that of my original key
I was expecting to be able to transfer the metal part of the key from my old housing, but due to minor differences in the position of the tabs on the sides of the button, it wasn't a perfect fit and won't function right. To get it to work properly I would have to get the flat blade cut for extra cost, while I was hoping to transfer the old one. My key is from a 2016 Chevy Cruze.I might have been able to transfer the button from the original key to get it to work, but one of the tabs broke when I separated the original fob, so it wouldn't retain its position.Still, the rest fits and works; just a bit disappointed that the design isn't an exact fit.

Works great; there’s just a pin swap.
Great for the money and works awesome. Yes the flip mechanism is different, no it isn’t a big issue. At the base of the key blank is a small circular hole with a spring pin in it. Get a pair of (very small) needle nose pliers and push the pin off center, then pull it out and the blank comes off. Do the same with the old key (save the pin) and put it on the new hub. Hold the old pin in the hole (using the pliers) and tap into place. Assembly is intuitive, you can spin the bodies with the spring between them to make the action snappier.
