Simple, Easy and Affordable. Works With Other Brands.
I bought this to mount an older Hampton Bay Southwind ceiling fan (Home Depot brand) and didn't want to spend $25 for the Hampton Bay mounting kit. This inexpensive part did the trick. It not only works perfectly with the Hampton Bay fan, fitting the ball hangar correctly, but has the correct amount of drop to work with the ceiling bezel. Great part, which is made of sturdy cast aluminum and not cheap plastic.

Just as advertised
Worked well for my Dads old house and supported the ceiling fan perfect.

Solid product and a good fit
I used this product to mount a Harbor Breeze brand cieling fan. Worked perfectly. Construction of the product was very solid. Glad I took the chance on using a different brand of hanger. Overall very pleased.

Works for 30 yr old Homestead fan
Old bracket broke and wasn't hopeful in finding a replacement as Homestead is out of business (bought by Casablanca in 1993; bought by Hunter Far Co. in 1996). While this bracket is slightly different in construction, it fits the Homestead and allowed me to re-mount it properly.Mountain the bracket first, followed by hanging the fan, followed by connecting wires is the "official" order of installation. Manipulating wires and wire nuts can be tricky in the limited space left. An alternative is an assistant to hold up the fan (not in the bracket), connect all wires, and then hang it. The fan is heavy though and positioning can be awkward so this may not work for you.

Works Fine!
Works as a universal mount for ceiling fan bracket.

Absolutely needed it
You can't hang a ceiling fan without it. At least the fan that I have needed it. Nothing really special about the item. It's a ceiling fan hanging bracket. It is what it is.

Works, But No Ground Wire and No Way to Attach Fan Collar that Hides Wires
I bought this to hang a 42” hunter ceiling fan we bought used that came without a ceiling plate. I called Hunter to buy a replacement and they had nothing. So, I looked on Amazon and found this. The Good News:This bracket securely holds the fan and mounted easily to the hanger we used that fits between the ceiling joists (also a Westinghouse product). The Bad News:1. This bracket doesn’t have a ground wire. So, you will need to run a ground wire from the ground screw on the metal box it mounts to. Do not use the plastic spacers provided or this bracket will not be grounded.2. Unlike some brackets of this design, doesn’t provide any way to secure the collar that hides the wires. For our 42” Hunter fan, it was about 2 inches too narrow at the top, so we had to improvise using two strips of wood and some corner brackets.Bottom Line:It does the job, but is an incomplete solution. If I couldn’t find anything else, I would buy it again.
