Berndes Tradition 9-1/2-Inch Skillet

We bought this pan over a year and a half ago and we cook with this pan every day and usually several times a day. It is heavy. It heats very even. It retains heat a lot longer than other cheaper pans. I can usually turn off the stove and it will continue to cook for a long time. I love to make over easy eggs and they slide so easy and can easily be flipped. Grilled ham and cheese comes out so perfect golden and not burned. steak will sear perfectly and still be rare or med rare (which is exactly the way I love it). Clean up. Oh my the clean up. I use a dry paper towel and wipe the bottom. No water till it cools down but while it is warm a paper towel gets up 90% of the debris and oils. Cold water and some liquid dish detergent in the sink and it is spotless. No elbow grease needed.I never use any metal utensils in this pan. NEVER! I have no need to use metal utensils because this is so slick and slippery. I never cut anything inside the pan. I have no idea how it would hold up to such abuse, but lucky for me I will never have to find out. Get it if you want to cook perfectly with easy clean up and have something that will last a long time if not abused.

EXCELLENT non-stick pan. A pleasure to cook with. The skillet heats evenly. Omelettes cook perfectly on medium heat. Steaks sear deliciously on high. Just a great all purpose skillet. I finally got smart and decided to spring for a good quality pan rather than continually having to replace the cheaper non-stick "green pans." This is a better long term value. Love the size. It is a little heavier than my All Clad but not as bad as cast iron pans. The handle is easy to grip and stays cool. I wash it by hand and it cleans easily. Berndes has a good reputation and I'd say they deserve it. Am going to buy other pans from them now.

I recently purchased this pan thinking it would be like many others I have experienced in the past. But it wasn't. It is a heavy duty, excellent, non-sticking pan. I do all the cooking in my home and have for over 40 years of being married. My wife simply doesn't cook. So when my other non-stick surface pan "died" I went shopping. I read with great interest other reviews of the Berndes tradition and decided to give this a try. We lived in Germany for two years and most things built by German companies, sadly, far exceed most American companies for the same product. This is true for this pan. The price is a little higher than the other brand names, but the quality far exceeds your expectations. I don't think you will be disappointed. As soon as Christmas is over and I see where our budget is, I am going to order another one.

I really like this pan. Have a Berndes grill pan as well. These are high quality, great to cook in and clean up easily. The wooden handle on this skillet is a little ''rough'' almost as if it doesn't have enough protective varnish, or whatever the manufacturer uses. The grill pan is different. I never soak the handles, and in fact soaking is unnecessary, as the pans are so easily cleaned and non-stick. Anyway, I do like the pans and they are without a doubt head and shoulders above most pans on the market.

I have not found another non stick pan that compares to this brand. Those other new type non sticks, my experience, the food cooks up differently, for instance a fried egg, it almost looks plastic, fake, it’s weird. Unfortunately I burned my 11inch skillet and replacing it will be pricey but I’ve already wasted money on 3 different new type pans that I hate. Not oven proof

Plenty of space to fry 3 or 4 eggs, great heat distribution, and clean-up could hardly be easier. At the price, it’s a luxury item.

We had another Berndes pan and it just wore out. This one is even better than the last one. I give this one 10 stars not 5 stars it is so wonderful. Buy it! You won't be sorry.

I love this brand. It is a bit more expensive than an average good pan but the quality and cooking results are fantastic. Have many other from this brand for many years and love them all. Got them initially through an Amazon
