Isis Mary Sophia: Her Mission and Ours

Meh...
The book is a selection of writing excerpts and lecture excerpts by Steiner, not an actual, cogent presentation by the master on the promised subject material. The Steiner Books people are doing more and more of this barely acceptable at best type of compilation that almost always leaves one dissatisfied. In this case, most of the material presented is entirely peripheral to the promise in the title. We also have a few things devoted to Isis, a few writings about Sophia, and pretty much nothing at all on Mary. Very disappointing and they should be ashamed of themselves for sneaking this by.That said, the book abounds with the usual wonders of a Steiner book -- the same important material found elsewhere, presented a little differently, revealing a little more, along with the occasional stand-alone nugget of penetrating, indispensible beauty that makes the book worth it for that alone. But -- the book has not enough to do with the title to be recommended. The Steiner Books people need to stop doing this sort of compilation, or else do it a lot better.
