Wonderful book and Excellent Bookseller
This book is an excellent primer for all aspects of fabric embellishment and collage. The spiral binding, full-page photos, and clear instructions give a beginner a solid foundation of techniques and supplies without being overwhelming. Just paging through the book is a pleasure. The book arrived earlier than expected, is in excellent condition exactly as the seller described, and included a personal note from the seller. I would confidently purchase from this seller again.

Really useful book
I really like this book. There are new techniques that I hadn't seen and products I wasn't aware of. Some of the book has things I had seen before but many that I hadn't. Its a beautiful book with helpful full color photos and "designer's gallery" pictures that show the techniques used in a project. Good how to pictures along with a supply list and additional tips were helpful. Spiral binding is great so the book lays open flat without holding it. I recommend purchasing this book.

Great projects
This book is very inspiring with clear, full color step-by step photos and easy to understand directions for each technique. The spiral binding leaves both hands free to create as the book lays flat. I love the concept of a mini-quilt book as a method of highlighting each technique so you have a great product at the end. Loved this book.

Kickstart your work with fabrics
Quilters and seamstresses with a big stash of scraps, up-cyclers, and collage makers can all find exciting new techniques in this classic workbook, which dips into traditional embroidery and explores new materials for the fiber artist. From needle and thread to fusible netting, a variety of projects will fill your toolbox for working with fabric. The only caveat is to buy it soon, while it is still in print and the price is reasonable.

Lovely Book!
I specifically purchased this book because I saw two of the finished fabric workbooks at the Houston Quilt Festival last year and just knew I had to make them for myself. I like the spiral binding. I have been sewing for many years and was familiar with some of the techniques, but some were new to me so this seems like a good way to learn them. I think the book provides good instruction on the various techniques and I'm glad I made the purchase.

This book is INCREDIBLE!
You will be amazed at how creative the authors are and how easy the ideas are to implement. They design the book so you can try every technique and build your own 'scrapbook' of ideas. They also show great ideas on combining techniques for great results.I have used these ideas for clothing embellishing, quilts, cloth book covers, and wine bottle covers (for gifts). Its an easy way to get "oohs and ahhs" for your work.Worth evey penny!

Love this book!
I absolutely love this book. No sooner had I looked at the first couple of pages and I was absorbed with enthusiasm for the projects in the book. I plan on working through a couple of them asap - Just need the time! After that I will probably try to incorporate some of the processes into my own work. I also plan on looking for more books etc by Ruth Chandler, (the author). I did a three day course on Crazy patchworking in the autumn and have been exploring on my own but needed some help to expand my skills. This book gives me that step. Everything seems fully and well explained. It doesn't make me feel things are at too high a level for me to attain but at the same time doesn't make me feel too 'stupid'. The projects just seem achievable and they will keep helping for the considerable future. Thus far the book has been with me all the time and it is hard to put down at night.

worth it for me
I have a lot of embellishing books for fibre art, i find i always learn at least one new thing from a book even if i know how to do most of it and it helps teach my Daughter art as she is home schooled.

Perfect for beginner and expert alike
Having spent inordinate amounts on textile art books that overwhelm me, I was delighted to find a book on embellishment techniques in bite size pieces! The authors cover over 50 diverse techniques in mainly two- or three-page sections including gallery items. The perfect source book for anyone who wants to try techniques out without getting too bogged down in the theory and for experienced textile artists who want to branch out.
