Thermo-Tec13590 24" X 48" Adhesive Backed Heat Barrier

Easy to use and effective

I used this over cement board to form a bay for a commercial range. The adhesive stuck on the cement backer board well & it does a good job reflecting heat away from that surface.

Purchased this material for sound deadening and heat transfer into the cab of our Polaris Expedition. This product made a noticeable difference!

Used it to insulate footwell and transmission tunnel on my Miata race car and it works really well. I was really surprised how well it worked with just a single layer but I'm going to add some more on the underside of the transmission tunnel next time the transmission is out.

Nice looking product but the adhesive is meager, the backing plastic is barely hanging on so it's exposed to atmosphere before you even get started. Contacted manufacturer and they blamed Amazon stock being old. Needed to buy a $30 can of Thermotec adhesive as I couldn't risk this stuff pealing off after everything was back together.Otherwise very thin, worked great for my use case to cover up an old firewall barrier. Relatively strong though I put a few scars in it while reinstalling the engine. Very easy to cut and shape.

Works well. Sticks like crazy when you clean the surface and preheat with a heatgun prior to application. Applied to panels next to and behind headers in a rock crawler/buggy. They're still plenty hot to the touch, but they would unquestionably be untouchable without this stuff. I'd recommend the similar, but thicker 1/8" product for anything near exhaust. I think I was expecting a little too much.

I chose this product after calling Thermo-Tec to determine which of their products would provide the best direct exhaust and catalytic converter heat protection for my under-hood wiring and hoses as well as my passenger compartment floor area. It conforms to irregular shapes well, sticks to clean surfaces well, and so far, has done exactly what it was designed to do as far as limiting heat transfer. And I chose Amazon after checking Thermo-Tec prices on several other sites.

This stuff is very easy to install. Nice and thin so you can form it to curves in the sheetmetal. Backing is not ridiculously sticky so you can pull it back up if you accidentally stick it. I'm super impressed with this stuff.
