Not for Jews...And Not for Anyone Else Who Wants Jewish Prayers
A prayer book without Hebrew is not written for Jews. If you are Jewish, I would definitely recommend looking elsewhere. The prayer books we use in services can be purchased themselves from CCAR, and I highly recommend it. There are so many prayers in those siddurs which one may never encounter during services. Don't waste your time or money on this book. If you aren't Jewish, just be careful to note that this isn't a Jewish prayer book. Given the language used in these translations, I'd say this book is intended for Christians who want to dabble in Jewish-esque prayers. If it were for Reform Jews (who tend to use half-English, half-Hebrew in their siddurs) then the words for God would be gender neutral and there wouldn't be so many old linguistic flourishes. So, if you're Christian, just keep in mind that these translations from a language very different from English that does not translate well are meant to conform to what you believe rather than express the spirit of Judaism.
