Riders on the Storm
I saw an article about this masterpiece in a newspaper. It was a color photo of the painting, which is a an oil painting by Rembrandt van Rijn done in 1633. It was stolen from a museum in Boston in 1990 by two thieves dressed as cops. It's still missing 30 years later. Something gripped me about this work of art so much that I wanted a copy, which I purchased. OK, so it's not the original (who could afford it anyway!). But my Bible isn't the original either and it gives me insight into who God is and how much he loves us as if it were the very first edition. So if you look at the framed copy, which is elegant and richly appointed, you see the disciples in every manner of faith: panicked, trying to keep the boat afloat in a horrible storm, some awakening the sleeping Messiah, some praying, some beseeching Jesus to do something, and one other guy - Rembrandt himself. He painted himself into the scene and looks out at the viewer, cap still on and a knowing enigmatic expression on his face, because he too read a copy of the Bible and knows how the story ends: Jesus "rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm."Jesus asked his disciples "Why are you so afraid?"And they said to each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" Mark 4: 37-41.Who do you say He is?Through all the insanity of our times, from pandemics to shortages to wars and rumors of wars to what appears to be a war on children, Jesus is still in charge. Rembrandt is looking out from the nearly 400 year-old canvas wondering if we still know that.If you’re not sure who Jesus is, pick up a copy of the Bible. Try reading the Gospel of John. And look at this painting, even if it's only a copy. Let it inspire you and let it challenge what you believe and help bring you to a place of supernatural faith even as the chaos of these times challenges us all daily.Elsewhere in Scripture Jesus told his followers, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent." John 6:29.So get to work!Read what Jesus said, contemplate this painting and think about faith: what builds it up and what challenges it. Sometimes a painting captures something so profound we can’t but say a picture is worth a thousand words. This is one them!MAE

Nice but
The frame is beautiful but plastic if you tap on it. I’ll probably have the two prints that I purchased reframed eventually in some thing wood. Otherwise the print itself is very nice.

Really does not look like a "painting". Just a photo on canvas.
The media could not be loaded. Looks like a photo on canvas. Not a painting, as I expected.

The best purchase I have ever made on Amazon!
I look at this amazing painting many times in a day! It was so much more than I expected for the price. The frame, while perhaps not that expensive to produce, looks likes real quality! I was certainly not expecting it to be ready to hang and was so surprised to find it was when I removed it from the box!! I am now looking for more Eliteart!

You need this in your home
This Rembrandt picture is stunning. everybody comments on it when they come into my home. The frame is not as elegant as it should be., but when you hang it high nobody can know. And Jesus is the calm in the center of the storm. Fair warning I bought this same picture from another seller on this site. The portrait was way too dark and even with lighting you could not see the detail. This artist has lightened the painting a bit, honestly it needed that , and it is perfect.

Not actually 20" x 24"; Actual size 19-1/2" x 23-1/2
Will not fit in my 20" x 24" frame. We will have to modify the frame to make it fit. Seller should indicate actual size 19-1/2" x 23-1/2". Not too happy. Beautiful piece of art, no doubt.
