I purchased this softlight along with three side standing softlights from another manufacturer. I am impressed with the design of this soflight. I was worried that it would tip over or not provide enough light. There are many fluorecent bulb powered softlights available but the power usage and heat generation drew me away from them.After i set it up and turned it on i knew i made the correct choice. The turn style dimmer is very smooth and offers a choice to save even more energy. The built-in LED array means no more bulbs to change, break or fade and flicker over time.I was able to set this kit to an incredible 7 foot height which was perfect so i could keep it out of my cameras view. I was able to eliminate harsh shadows and increase the amount of light in my photoshoot setup thanks to this soflight. The choice of 2700k or 5400k color options are a great bonus. I decided to use a combination of 2700k and 5500k in my four softlight fixture setup.There are no instructions provided yet it is very straightforward to setup with some common sense and knowledge about lighting setups.

The light itself is great, and very affordable. But what's even better, is the company behind the product. Upon assembling the light head, one of the screws I was tightening just snapped broken. I emailed them and they immediately offered to send me an entire replacement unit! I didn't need that, just the specific part. But they are sending the whole light, and didn't make me return my old one (which would've been a hassle to disassemble and ship). Thanks Miranda in customer support!!

This light is too good to be true. It looks good on paper, and the design is wonderful, but the parts are cheap and the light is dim. I broke the boom arm clamp literally the first time I assembled it. I ended up returning it and getting an Elgato Key Light instead. Yeah, it's twice the price, but it's also twice the brightness with sturdier construction.

The directions were really tiny I had to use magnification to view it. I was expecting this to be more portable like my other soft box this has metal slats that have to be taken in and out to be portable where as my other that I purchased from a different company is more like a umbrella style where I can inflate and deflated and put in a box right away to be portable fast and easy it doesn't have to be put together. I like the light and the arm other then that I wasn't really thrilled at how the soft box was put together. It appears I will have to leave this one up all the time its too complicated to take down and put up. When I'm out at a photoshoot I don't have time to be putting things together I need portability.

If I could summarize this product:1. The instructions are HORRID. I got online and found a video that somewhat helped. I an also horrible with directions and was able to put together in 30 min or less. (including watching the video)2. Put together gently - don't force anything.3. Didn't come with "sand" for the sandbags - I just used a couple canned beverages and that worked fine.4. Light and stand work great for my macro/indoor photography. I think you'll be pleased with this stand/light. I'm sure there are better/heavier ones - but I really needed the boom stand to position the light to be able to sit over items, and this does the trick! I also didn't want to spend a ton of money while I'm just playing around for now.

It's a very sturdy stand with a strong boom and everything works great. The light is easy to use and does a great job.About a month after I got it I was tightening the boom down and the nut stripped. I asked for a replacement handle and no questions asked they sent a replacement (overnight)! Could not have asked for better (and polite) customer service!10 out of 5 stars, would recommend.

Mine came with a defective clamp. They immediately sent me a replacement and did not ask to return the defective one.The clamps are made of plastic; would be nicer if they were metal.It has great functionality thanks to the boom. the diffuser is great but mot perfect to soften the light.Sandbag comes with no weights so they have to be ordered

Bought this for social media blogging and it had two color settings (warm/cool) I wish it was brighter. I use this light in front of big floor to ceiling windows so it could be competing against the natural light. I am planning to use in a studio setting. A little difficult to put the soft box on around the lamp it’s self but with a little force it worked. 4/5 for me
