I have spent time and money fixing issues since buying this turntable used back in May. I have been out of the vinyl world for 20 years and this is my first trip into a world I swore I would never get back into. But the setup I have sounds drastically better than any cd I have and my ears are only the happier. Except for the vinyl rumble that is. The Dual I have has an upgraded stylus that makes a good bit of sound difference but it has also found the way to make the vinyl rumble that much more noticeable. Yes, I could take out the drive motor, clean and lube it but after the speed adjustment housing broke, the last straw was drawn for this unit and after 3 major parts breaks and fixes I said "done" with this turntable. But two major problems arise from this situation: money and the turntable I would be happy with and neither exist at this point in time. This is where the TC-8 Cork 1/8" Turntable mat comes into play. This was my last ditch effort to make my vinyl sound better, almost like trying to put a band aid on an axe wound. So after reading the reviews, I ordered a custom 11 1/8" mat from Audio 465 who provided amazing customer service. Audio 465 provide the best customer service of any desertcart seller I have ever used, no one even comes close! This mat will greatly reduce vinyl rumble on an old worn out turntable like mine and I would easily say 90% of the rumble is gone. Static definitely seems to be reduced also. As far as slippage is considered I have never noticed any issues before or after using this mat. But even though a small amount of vinyl rumble exists, a new life has been given to the sound of my turntable. Anyone facing similar issues should do themselves a big favor and buy this mat. It is by far the best band for your buck you can ask for. It really does work! Review: An essential upgrade - Best $15 upgrade you can make. I've been using the felt mat that came with my Audio-Technica LP 120 and was never satisfied with it: it didn't lay flat (causing records to spin with a wave-like movement, almost as if the record was warped) and caused horrible static. This mat lays completely flat and absorbs the sounds of the turntable itself that I used to be able to hear faintly in between songs. And so much less static! Plus, my records sound so much better. Seriously, I cannot recommend this upgrade enough. I have plans of upgrading my cartridge and removing the preamp from my TT, which are not necessarily upgrades I would recommend to everyone, as they involve a bit of work, but this is an easy, fast, cheap, and no-brainer of an upgrade; I just wish I had done it sooner.

An essential upgrade
Best $15 upgrade you can make. Does what it needs to do
Does what it needs to do. I wasn't sure about the 1/8 or 3/16 version but the company assured me they worked the same way. I do have an adjustable VTA but really didn't feel like messing with it and since my Audio-Technica felt mat was already 1/8" I decided to go with that. Have only played 2 albums on it so far and there may be a difference in sound as I noticed the bass sounded fuller to an extent I had to adjust the EQ a bit. Much better than the felt mat that came with it. The spindle hole was a good, tight fit and seems to hold in place very well with no slippage whatsoever. My only gripe was that I ordered it and it shipped taking 12 days to arrive. Now I realize Washington is a long way from Florida but first class mail shouldn't take that long. In comparison I ordered some records on eBay shipped via media mail from California this Tuesday and they arrived the same day as the cork mat taking only 3 days. You can see by my photo that it fits perfectly on the platter. As far as pricing this one cannot be beat. I know there are more out there and some priced as high as $50. I wanted something affordable and this seems to do the trick so I would recommend buying one of the cheaper ones. Cork is cork right?

Great straightforward product
This is a great slipmat. It fits my audio technica LP120 platter perfectly. The spindle hole fits very snuggly which is also nice. The 1/8th inch thick model is the same exact size as the felt mat that came with my turntable. Mine has almost no holes in it, and doesn't have any chunks missing. None of the cork sticks to my vinyl. Since it is thin cork, it is fairly fragile but that shouldn't be a problem. My records attract significantly less dust than before with my felt mat. I've also noticed a pleasant and noticeable boost in bass. Great item for a great price.

What's not to like?
I ordered this turntable mat in the hope that it would reduce - as advertised - some static issues I have been experiencing since I resurrected my vintage stereo equipment and turntable using a Blue Tooth connection to my speakers. Not sure if the static is a result of the Blue Tooth equipment, or if it's something with the turntable. While not 100% eliminated, the cork mat has SO GREATLY reduced the static problem. I am able to enjoy my vinyl at volumes which would previously have been impossible without severe audio degradation due to the static (I'm listening to an album now as I write...nice and loud!) The service was great. My Denon DP-35F direct drive turntable needed a slightly smaller diameter (11.5) rather than the stock size (11-5/8). Ron emailed to confirm the size, and also provided some tips on the static issues, which was much appreciated. He explained custom sizes WILL take a little longer to arrive (wasn't that long, really). When it did arrive, it was in a rigid cardboard carton. Just dropped it on and played. The mat helped my issue, the price was great, customer service was responsive and friendly, and the cork looks pretty sharp on my turntable! See pic. What's not to like?

Excellent Product, Unbeatable Price
I needed a cork mat for a 1960s era Dual 1019 and Turntable Toys was able to cut a custom fit item for me at no extra price. The product definitely works--it lowered the noise floor by eliminating rumble, and the added height also had the side benefit of bringing the tracking angle of the stylus closer to the 15-degree optimum. The mat is the equivalent of similar units selling for 3x the price. The seller gets top marks for quick service, quality, and value.
