Works like OEM
I have a 2013 VW Tiguan SEL. This went in easy. All parts matched up. Works perfect. Saved a lot of money by doing this myself (You-Tube has video). Also, save by buying this and not an OEM. Would definitely recommend.

Works fine
The hatch on our Jetta wouldn't latch closed. This replace works fine, and it's a lot cheaper than the OEM original.Pretty easy to install. First remove the trim panel. Pop off the covers in the grab pockets adjacent to the latch. Remove the screws using a T20 Torx bit. Pop the retaining clips by pulling the panel down using the grab pockets. There is no need to completely remove the panel. All you need is access to the latch mechanism. Remove the retaining bolts using an 8mm triple square driver (https://www.amazon.com/Capri-Tools-30034-Triple-Square/dp/B00ESMZYV6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=8mm%2Btriple%2Bsquare%2Bbit&qid=1684778301&sr=8-5&th=1) . Pull the latch out then remove the electric connector. Install the new latch by reversing these steps. Electric plug, triple square bolts, trim, screws, and screw covers. Before clipping the plastic trim panel into place, confirm that the spring metal clips are correctly installed in the panel, and not stuck in their corresponding square holes in the metal hatch door. If necessary use needle nose pliers to remove the metal clips, then slide them into place in the plastic trim. Align the ends of the spring metal clips with their corresponding holes, before clipping them back into place. Replace the T20 torx screws and screw covers. Done!

Skeptical at first - but worked flawlessly
I've got a '13 VW Golf TDI and my rear hatch latch stopped working and I found a YouTube video with a link to this replacement and I was VERY skeptical because I've ran into issues in the past replacing window motors because they needed to be programmed to my specific car. BUT to my surprise, this cheap replacement worked amazing. Bolt on, plug in, and worked great. 5/5 would recommend.

Fixed my Inoperable Rear Hatch
Simple install (Provided you have a Triple Square Bit Set. . . I did). This fixed the inoperable rear hatch on my Jetta Sportwagen. The old one would just make a terrible noise when you tried to open, but wouldn't release. It's been about 2 weeks and so far so good. The only weird issue I had is the key fob hatch button no longer seems to do anything, but the handle/button on the hatch works just fine.
