Really happy with this ORICO hard drive enclosure. It took me less than a minute to pop my old SSD into it — no tools needed at all. Just slide it open, snap the drive in, and you're good to go.Connected it to my ASUS router and it picked up the drive instantly. Speeds are great with USB 3.0, and the enclosure doesn't get hot even after copying a bunch of files. It feels well made for the price, and I like the clear case — looks clean and lets you see the drive inside.If you have an extra 2.5" drive lying around and want a cheap, easy way to reuse it, this thing is perfect. Definitely recommend!

Completely fool-proof. This drive enclosure does just what it says, and does it very well. Simply plug in and power up. Data recovery or data storage, easy-peasy. Great look, too. No tools needed. Couldn't be a faster way to use a drive you thought you had no use for.

The product works amazingly. Right out of the box I was able to plug in my old hdd’s from my old laptops and grab my data. It’s cheap, easy to use fresh out of the package, and it’s so small you can barely tell where it is. Now I keep one of the hard drives in the case for extra storage on my computer. Definitely recommend this to anyone who’s looking to buy it!

This works very well for the price. After many years, my very-old laptop died. I removed the 2.5 inch drive and put it in this enclosure. It worked perfectly and I was able to recover all my data and transfer it all to my new laptop. Then I erased this drive and now use it for an external drive/backup. Good product for only $16.

It is quite easy to use and assemble, its connectivity works pretty. It does not need screws to have it ready for usage.

We used to use Samsung's external SDD drives in the Archive. But Samsung changed their design in a way to make it hard to paper label their drives. Labeling is very important to us, as we can have 15 to 20 external drives floating around at any given time.The ORICO 2.5'' Hard Drive Enclosure Type-C USB 3.1 Gen2 is simple to use. The top cover slides off. Drive pops in. slide cover back. If you have trouble getting the top to slide from fingers slipping, put on a set of thin rubber glove. Works great! We tried their ridge top clear case and didn't like it.The enclosure comes with a couple of pieces of foam rubber to use as shims, if you are using thinner SDD drives. The foam will eventually break down, so be aware of that. But foam should last a few years.SDD and HDD drives are used for temporary back up only. If it is digital and you want to preserve it...put it on M-Disc or high-quality Blu-ray disc. AZO DVD may last 15 - 25 years, if it is kept in the dark and cool. M-Disc DVD can last a year in the sun with no issues, whereas AZO DVD are dead after 3.5 weeks of sun. All Blu-ray discs are not the same. Some die within a few weeks of sun. Others can take a year of sun. But that is another review. This isn't guesswork, we maintain a large optical media library and everything we use gets torture stress tested before adopting it.Photo shows Samsung 870 EVO SDD 4TB drives in the cases.
