Great markers and they will do the blending for you!
After getting back into coloring over the past summer; and going several Facebook groups about adult coloring; I have asked a lot of questions on what is a better medium to use in the adult coloring books and of course there is some mixed reviews or preferences; but I am very pleased with my purchase and I haven't had any problems with it. It all depends on the quality of the paper, thickness, and if the coloring book is single sides or double sided if I would trust markers in it. These so far I haven't had any problems on single sided coloring books with these; double sided; I would trust them not; like in Johanna's books the Secret Garden and her other books as these are alcohol based and they will bleed through!

Patience and Practice will Make Blending Easy!
I really like the Chameleon pens! They're one of my favorite mediums to color with these days because they make blending, highlighting, and full coloring easy. I can see how some people say that they are time consuming, but that is part of the process and for me, the ability to easily blend colors is worth an extra 15 seconds. I also like the colors of the markers. This set of Primary Tones has 5 beautiful basic colors that are versatile in any coloring book. The color at full color is vibrant and lays flawlessly on the page. These markers will bleed through standard coloring book pages, so I do recommend having a blotter behind the page you are coloring to keep the next page from being ruined. You just need to allow the colored part of the marker to saturate with the blending end of the marker and the longer you hold the marker upright, the longer you'll have to blend. I will say that it took awhile to figure out the technique to use the blending process, but after playing with the pens for a bit I did get the hang of blending with the pens and ABSOLUTELY LOVE them. Chameleon Pens also has tutorials on their website explaining how to use the pens with different techniques and there are also instructions in the packaging. Another benefit of these markers is that they're refillable and the nibs (tips of the markers) are replaceable. So, yes these markers a more expensive than other alcohol based markers, but they'll last a lifetime and the ink refill and nibs are not as expensive as the initial investment of the entire marker. TIP: Once the brush tip is "broken in", you will want to be aware how closely you are coloring to the lines. As I mentioned, this ink will bleed through a page, but that also means that it will spread across the page. I didn't have a problem with the color bleeding over the lines when the nib was brand new, but after some use, that's when I really noticed that I didn't want to color directly next to them. I've found that once I leave a little space, the color will spread and fill in any remaining space. I added photos as examples of the ink being blended and full strength from the following books: Flowers for Beginners: An Adult Coloring Book with Simple Flower Designs and Easy Floral Patterns for Stress Relief and Relaxation Smiles To Brighten Your Day - Adult Coloring Book: An Uplifting Coloring Book for Adults with the Happiest Cats and Dogs : Simple Designs : Easy Coloring Cheaper than Therapy: An Irreverently Snarky Adult Coloring Journal (Irreverent Book) (Volume 6) Overall, I would and have recommended these pens to my friends and family and I hope that my review helps you decide whether or not you'd like them too!

Pretty cool but also pretty expensive
These are neat and take practice. I think they are pretty expensive though, $20 for 4 colors and a black one. The tips don't seem like they will last too long though.

Great markers
I think they are very helpful for coloring when doing art. I like how they have the colorless blender with the marker and how you are able to blend with another color tip. One thing that does bother me is that the nub looks like it is ever so slightly shredding.

These are really cool markers. I'm barely starting to use them
Decided to try these because the copics have been so hard to get my hands on lately. These are really cool markers. I'm barely starting to use them, and it takes some time to get used to them! They're not necessarily something you can jump right into, because you need to get the hang of the times that you leave the blender end on, etc. I suggest watching YouTube videos! I do smaller coloring, usually stamped images, but I think these wouldn't be as good if you're coloring on a larger scale because you would have to stop often to get the color right with the blending tip.

Takes some experimenting, but really nice once you get the hang of them.
My 11yr old's drawing ability is way beyond her age, and when she saw a video of the shading capability of these markers she flipped out. So, under the Christmas tree they went - and were a huge hit! They take a little getting used to if you have never used an alcohol marker before, but she got the hang of them rather quickly. The time you allow the marker to "charge" affects the transparency level of the shade, and you have to be patient as the minimum recommended time is 15 seconds. The paper you use makes a difference too, so you may need to try it out on several different types/weights before you master the effect you are going for. I bought this small set as a test case to see if they lived up to the hype, and she will definitely be getting the larger color range for her next birthday.

We love doing arts and crafts in our home and I'm ...
We love doing arts and crafts in our home and I'm always on the lookout for high quality art pens. These are amazing and work just like the product said they would. Word to the wise....make sure you are drawing on thick pieces of paper or lay down cardboard onto a surface because they will bleed through thin pieces of paper.

Lovely!
I love these markers. You actually can change the intensity of the colors. They do not smear or bleed and can be used in adult coloring books. My dream would be to own every color!

Not there yet. The original (non diluted) colours are not bright and vivid. The idea is good, though, as the dilution chamber works perfectly and you can easily make gradients. Hopefully, they will improve the product and I would try again.
