Needs work becoming totally waterproof.
The water proof buttons did not last, the thin layer of plastic came up, didnt puncture, but the entire piece went haywire and stopped working after 2 months. Now, Im not sure if water entered the product, but the entire piece should be water proof.

Will work BUT ...
Good Quality meters us a pre mixed 4.0 & 7.0 calibration solution. This uses a 3 part solution with odd numbers, (6.86, 4.0, 9.18) that you mix with distilled water. This can lead to to may variables giving you a not as accurate reading. The other problem is pre mixed calibration solutions get used once and dumped. You get only the 3 packets of calibration powder. You will need to buy and mix more every time you calibrate as you cant save this for reuse. With daily use good meters need calibration every week.In the pics you will see,1. The 3 tubs I mixed with the calibration powder.2. Pre mixed calibration solutionI then calibrated the meter in its powder calibration solution and checked it in its own solution and the premix.3. The meter reading 3.95 in the pre mixed solution (pink).4. The meter reading 3.95 in the powered solution I mixed. My house is 70*F or 20*CThe meter is accurate enough for most jobs .. BUT .. the calibration process with powder lacks the confidence I get with pre mixed. You can buy 6.86, 4.0 and 9.18 solutions in a premix.

It freaked out after 4 days.
The PH tester worked like a charm after calibration for about 4 days then it haywire and became very inaccurate. The package came with enough ph calibration package for one calibration, after that you are on your own. That's a problem because the directions that came with the digital PH tester list several ways that the device's accuracy will shift and will need to be recalibrated."Note recalibration is required in the following conditions: lengthy periods of inactivity. Very frequent use. The testing accuracy requirement is very high. The "cal" (calibration) button was pushed and electrode exposed to air for extended period of time." - Ph manualThese reasons guarantee that the device will need to be recalibrated on a semi-regular basis to stay accurate. However, mine lasted only about 25-30 tests before the numbers started going haywire when out of water, and once it's placed in water it stops spasming but it's reading is off by several points. It's a shame. I liked it while it was working, but I can't recommend it to others.

Arrived calibrated, it’s been 2 months and still haven’t needed to re-calibrate
Got mine about 2 months ago, it came calibrated and I haven’t needed to recalibrate it yet. For the price, this meter is awesome. It’s simple to use, just pop the cap, turn it on and get your reading, than dip in distilled water, dry off and cap. Done.

Buy this now. Stop wasting reagent and your time.
I don’t know what kept me from buying one of these, initially, but when I was unable to get reagent for my pH test kit (for testing my plant water) I had to buy one. I am so glad I did. It’s so much easier. Save the reagents for testing. Buy one today.
