Recipe for clam chowder recommended this brand, which I had never tried. Tasty and already cut up. Time saver for me, which I loved. Husband loved it and has requested I make it again, already.

Taste was as anticipated for canned, good value, would or will buy again. Used for homemade clam chowder.

I put in pest basil sauce and pour over spaghetti. Yum.

The first time I bought these they were great. The second time... disgusting, gritty and weird.... Because I was sent “surf clams” . The second case had different labels. Unfortunately I didn’t pay much attention (although the color was grayish). I ruined an entire batch of chowder using these.

I have bought the standard supermarket clams (in my area) for years. I find that Bar Harbor has no sulfurous undertones and gives a nice flavor. Mostly use them for recipes for red or white clam sauce or a pantry clam chowder, and they turn out great. Also use Bar Harbor bottled clam juice.
