There maybe other real ice creams but most likely you wil find them in an expensive pint size container. Blue Bunny makes great Vanilla Bean REAL ice cream . Tillamook makes a vanilla that is real also but if contains thickeners. The thickener is healthy but not needed. Everyone else makes “frozen dairy desserts” read the ingredients on your favorite brands. Blue Bunny makes an exceptional vanilla bean ice cream, smooth, creamy, made with real vanilla, no slimy tongue residual feel after you swallow. You get that from the thickeners and chemicals in most “ frozen dairy desserts “instead it is a clean feel and taste like a handful of fresh lite snow. The flavor dissolves with the ice cream. You will have to try it to know what I’m talking about. It’s Icy fresh. Blues other dessert products are very good and also often more reasonably priced than other brands.

The Blue Bunny Vanilla Bean is what I ordered to try out. Very noticeable was what others had mentioned in their feedback. The ice cream was sunken in the middle and was two or so inches down from the top rim of the carton. The carton I got had the same characteristic. I have never bought any ice cream that was not filled to the very top of the carton. The question begs an answer - was there a freezer failure with partial thawing and then refreezing of the product ? I had a plain bowl of the ice cream a few days after it had been in my deep freezer. The product was very creamy with good, natural tasting vanilla flavor and no hint of heavy liquid baking vanilla. There were lots of flecks of actual vanilla beans - a real plus, as some brands have very little of the tiny beans. My main complaint is that this ice cream is a little too sweet for my preference. For reference, I am comparing it with both the Tillamook and Dryers which for me have the right level of sweetness, tho’ neither has quite the creaminess of the Bunny. Would the Blue Bunny work with apple pie or chocolate cake? Don’t know since I had neither to make a comparison. A small Sundae would be over the top in sweetness for me even if it was just chocolate topping, whipped cream and a cherry.

We used to only purchase Bryers Natural Vanilla. It has very few ingredients, and not a lot of junk. We don't eat high fructose corn syrup in anything. Blue Bunny, like Bryers, has very few ingredients. When there was no Bryers through Amazon Fresh, I spent about a day reading the ingredients of all the Vanilla Ice Cream that said "natural" or "organic", or something that leads you to believe that isn't a lot of junk ingredients. I read the Blue Bunny, and it fit my criteria for ice cream, so I ordered it in the off chance that it would be any good. I think I like it better than Bryers. The perfect Vanilla taste, and although all food items have increased, it just isn't that much more costly than buying ice cream that is filled with things I cannot pronounce. I find it a winner, and will continue purchasing this ice cream in the future!

Ok ice cream but wouldn’t buy again. Did not like the texture and the value is no big deal. There are much better ice creams out there especially Tillamook.
