tips to fly by
Standard Richard Collins. Some good information and alot of common sense. some of it just lets the light go on( wow I could of had a V8) and some is basic uncommon sense written in an easy style. It's the same ageless Richard.

Insight From Experience, Great Price..Skip the Videos
As a private pilot, I have purchased video tapes etc. from one of the more popular pilot supply houses where Mr. Collins hosts the many video titles under the vendor's name. In them he shares his long experience on the different phases of flight such as Descent and Landing, Takeoff and Initial Climb, Enroute Climb and Cruise, Other titles and topics, Multi Engine, Emergencies, High Performance Singles, Night Flying and more. This book covers the same richness of experience shared on those videos for alot less expense. The videos sell for over twenty dollars each. This book covers the same (sometimes the same verbage) material for less than the cost of one of those videos. For those who want to save a bundle of cash, benefit from the wisdom of Mr. Collins; buy this book.

Wish I had this book 700 hours ago...
This is an EXCELLENT book. Lots and lots and lots of very practical tips that ANY pilot of ANY skill level can immediately use. As always, Mr. Collins doesn't preach-- he talks pilot to pilot about things that he's learned both from practical experience as well as from observing in others.Worth it's weight in gold. Truly. Cannot recommend this one enough.

Good book and enjoyable to read
Good book. I found it very enjoyable with many tips and stories throughout. Doesn't get too in depth but it gives you some highlight points that you can research further if you feel inclined.

Must read for GA pilots
This is a must read for all General Aviation pilots and enthusiasts.I enjoyed the practical approach and somber lessons shared with the reader.Flying is by nature a very safe mode of transport but very unforgiving to human error and therefore planning, respect for the elements and patience are virtues every pilot should have and nurture!

Good book.. classic Dick style
This book is a solid read for new pilots. It's written in classic Dick Collins style.. always with an antidotal story at every corner. It could be condensed down some, but I've enjoyed it and its a great reminder book.

Great Book
The style of this book makes reading it a joy. If you are a student pilot the insights are great. I am only a student so I can't speak for the mega-hour pilots but as in Sky Diving (which I DO have mega numbers in) you always need to keep learning.
