Mcphee Emergency Bowtie

I got this as a gift for a relative who was attending a major premiere in the LA area. It was perfect. Most men can't find their black bow tie at the last moment, and so an Emergency Bow Tie with its own tin is a welcome gift. It was so well received by him, that I ordered another one to keep in the glove compartment of his car, just in case he's called in for another big event. Any guy who ever plans to go to a black tie event needs one of these for last-minute panic of "Where's the BOWTIE???" These are wonderful! TWO, we bought two.

This sat in my car's glove compartment for almost 2 years. Still, I knew that one day I'd need it.Last weekend, that day finally came.I found myself at an Easter brunch, underdressed in comparison to the rest of my friends. In that instant, I knew the time was right. I announced to my friends that I would return in a moment, dressed for the occasion.I ran to my car and grabbed it. I was able to attach it to my T-shirt, it just took a little bit of work.Presto! I was ready to go. I brought the box along too, so everyone could see. It made my day in more way than one.

The emergency bow tie did not do the job. Right out of the package - the clips would not stay clipped and I wore it only because I had an emergency sewing kit with me. I had no choice. I had to sew the bow tie to my shirt on my way to serve at a wedding reception. Not sure why it is on the market as is and has such faulty clips. The emergency is the bow tie itself. Small disappointment, and definitely not worth buying. The tin is being used for paper clips and my bow tie, well I have to figure out/ a way to fasten it. I don't think I can return it due to sewing it temporarily on my shirt.Sincerely,Mickey Rawson

Although this is the perfect gag gift it is not really made to wear much. I bought this for my 8th grade son who wanted one to take to his dances. He only got one use out of it before it broke and I had to buy a real one but he still uses the can it came in.

Bought these as part of a white elephant gift exchange gift. Everyone thought it was pretty funny, but none of the three people who tried to clip the bow-tie to their button-down shirt were able to do so. If you intent on actually wearing this tie for real or as a gag, I wouldn't recommend this product.

While the bowtie itself is nicely constructed and is made of a good material, as some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the clips used to fasten the bowtie to the shirt is extremely poorly constructed. The bowtie would hardly stay on and one side of the clip was looser than the other so the bowtie often became askew, looking crooked in pictures...and kept falling off throughout the night. Sure, the tin case was a nice touch, but I'd rather have a solid bowtie that would actually stay on for my dad. I would definitely avoid this product if you're seriously looking for a bowtie to dress up a formal outfit.

I bought two of these emergency bow ties for my sons. They had different bow ties in the past that had a band that goes around the neck, these never worked well because just when we thought they were adjusted properly they would start to sag. These emergency bow ties were much better, mostley because they were clip on. They held up well for teenagers going to the Military Ball, and they thought they were fun coming in the tin box and all.
