Gears 5 - Standard Edition - Xbox One

I, like many, am a diehard Gears fan, the original got me into gaming when I was a teen (and also tied me into the Xbox!) so I eagerly looked forward to this, after Judgement being disappointing.I'm not one to write reviews really, but I'm a little weary of seeing the negative reviews on this. It's a great game, true to its type whilst kicking it up a knotch in the graphics and overall experience department. I especially liked the new weaponry and side missions - I enjoyed upgrading Jack along the way. The combat comes together well in this mixing up hand (which has been developed into something better than before) as well as just out and out good shooter, everything feels much more interactive which I just felt boosted the game's immersement levels.Overall, I love it. Really stayed true to Gears, loved the storyline, collectables and got me itching to sink masses of time into it very quickly (which as a mum of three is not easy!). Great return for Gears, if they continue along this line, I'd love another installment.

Played this game with my friend online and love it! It's a great addition to the gears franchise. Well worth it.

I loved Gears 1 - 3. Gear 4 was utter crap and the storyline was really short. I didn't have high hopes for 5 since the franchise changed hands again but I was pleasantly surprised. I just feel this Gears is miles better than the last one. I liked the storyline and general gameplay. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because Del is the worst. I don't see the point of him because he is not helpful at all. Del gets in the way and he doesn't pick you up even when you're next to him.

I'm a massive fan of this game; I own the whole franchise, so my review may be a bit biased. But I'll say it anyway: this game is FANTASTIC! I didn't think that it was possible to improve on an already perfect franchise. However, true to form, they managed; they've turned this game into a Gears meets Resident Evil type fare -- it's EXTREMELY dark, much darker than it had ever been before. I also enjoy the little side missions that they included to upgrade Jack. They add much needed longevity to what SEEMS like a short game. This game is brilliant.

Splitscreen is awesome. Horde mode also epic

Pretty good but i feel this franchise fading sadly but this is still a very decent game but finding it hard to compare to A list games nowadays.

It's Gears, it's big guns and building bases and blowing up monsters and robots and I love it! I'm not a gamer of any type and this is the only game I have ever bothered with so you can take my opinion as a very very casual player.. but It's got big guns and building bases and blow....

I only really got this game for campaign really as I had gears 4 in the pass and im not really a online player but I found the campaign enjoyable at times I just wish it was longer.

Gioco imperdibile per un fan della serie di vecchia data come me, gears innovativo, nulla da dire se non che il gioco è uno spettacolo. Consegna rapida e puntuale come sempre.

Gioco molto bello, sotto ogni punto di vista, magnifico in 4k con Xbox One x, audio in Atmos degno di nota, campagna ben strutturata e con componenti esplorative opzionali (poche ,ma presenti). Unica pecca è che lasciando la one x in modalità avvio rapido, capita spesso che il gioco si impianta durante il caricamento campagna, obbligando il riavvio della console...con la console in modalità risparmio energetica problemi zero. Non gioco online e non posso valutare tale sezione, in definitiva un gran bel gioco, specialmente a livello tecnico. Do tre stelle anziché 4 poiché il gioco mi è arrivato con la confezione in francese anziché in inglese come indicato.Preciso però che il gioco è completamente parlato in italiano.
