Plesantly surprised. Works well. Happy with purchase.
When I purchased this device there were no reviews. Against my better judgement, I purchased 6 of these because I was so desperate for a better solution, and if it worked, I didn't want to have to wait more weeks for another shipment from China and I put all my faith in this device. I thought, 'for that price, there's no way this could be good'.I needed a solution to replace my bluetooth Hunter Simple connect devices with something that had wifi. I searched for weeks and could only find a device that cost $70.00 with a company that I had never heard of. Then a few days later, the Amazon algorithm put this device in front of me. I was very skeptical at first with somewhat vague details and no reviews, at this price. Once I saw that it was controlled by the Smart Life app by Tuya, my confidence in this product was immediately boosted and I spent over $100.00 on 6 of them. *note* If you look in the smartlife app, you will not see a ceiling fan option and this worried me. It connects under the 'fan' icon that looks like a tabletop fan, but it will correct the icon to a ceiling fan once installed.I nervously awaited their long journey from China, knowing that I just threw away $100.00. They finally got here and I was absolutely beside myself excited to see if this device lives up to what is advertised.Let me tell you......it is. I installed 3 of them in 45 minutes and couldn't believe how easily they connected to smart life. They were immediately recognized by Alexa and respond to voice commands and smart home automations. Now, for the stuff that I wasn't expecting (none of which is problem for me).1. It comes with no wire nuts (I already had them from my hunter connect)2. The wires are a little on the thin side and will not take a lot of abuse without restripping (twist them up tight and you'll be fine)3. The device makes a click sound when you turn on/off the light or fan (similar to what you hear inside a TPlink). It also has a beeping but you can easily turn that off in the app.4. No screw for the remote bracket (I've never mounted a remote bracket in my life)5. No remote batteries (good thing I had 12 triple A's laying around for the 6 remotes)6. The fan light can be independently named within the native app but the light isn't passed through to Alexa. On my old fans there was a switch for the fan and another for the light on all my fans. This means I've been unable to control my fan light with my voice via Alexa. This is kindof a bummer but I really don't use the fan lights much and I have faith that Tuya and Alexa will get together and fix it (their other integrations are pretty good). Edit 7-9-19: a few days after install, Alexa started allowing the fan lights to pass through as their own devices. You will most likely have to rename them in Alexa because the SmartLife app has a very low character limit for the light name. For example 'Office Light' will only come out to be 'Office Lig'. Just rename it in Alexa so she knows what you're talking about (the native app doesn't matter),These aren't what I'd consider drawbacks, just unexpected things that other people might not be expecting.I'm somewhat of a smart home aficionado and I'm incredibly pleased with my purchase. The functionality is better than Hunter Simple Connect. This was a tremendous value and I'd highly recommend. Also, the two problems I was trying to solve (multi-remote interference) and switching off Bluetooth devices which blast the signal everywhere and interfere with other fans has all been corrected with this solution.

Works as described
I bought a 2 pack of the wifi smart fan controllers, be aware this will not work if you have a newer brushless DC fan with the 3 motor wires, this product does not state it does so i didnt deduct stars. Works great , wired up easily, and paired easily to my Tuya (smartlife) app on my old style AC fan.

No instructions, but read directions in this review.
There is not much anyone can say about a fan controller except that it works. This one works.Of most interest to buyers is that there are absolutely no instructions of any sort. This might put off less experienced smart home converts, but it shouldn't. first install the controller. it is a standard size so if you already have a fan with a remote, it is easy to replace the old one with the new one. All the wires are color coded and marked, so nothing confusing there.1. Download the "smart life" app for your cell phone through the Play Store for Android or equivalent for IOS. (just search for "smart life".2. Start the app and set it to search for fans under the small home appliances group. Use the desktop fan as your category.3. You need to set the controller to pairing mode. Hold down the light and fan HI buttons together on the fan remote until it emits 3 beeps. (This can take up to 10 seconds). The app will search for new devices and this can tak an awful long time. Once it is found, you can edit the device name and light name also.4. The app will find and install the controller and usually Alexa catches up and installs it into Alexa devices. It should install as 2 devices: a fan and a light. Sometimes it only installs the fan and not the light, then try installing it again.5. Use the alexa app to turn on the fan and/or the light. All done.If you are installing more than one controller, it can get a bit confusing for Alexa and for you as well. As soon as you mention "fan", Alexa will see she has more than one and everything goes downhill from there. I seem to have solved that problem by creating a routine that triggers both fans. The trick is to not use the word fan in your command. I say "ceiling fan" and this works. You can control fan speed and light dimmer from Alexa. Each has 3 speeds. The only negative thing I can say (except for the no instructions) is that the remotes are permanently set to the controller so getting a replacement remote would not be possible. This is not anything to worry about if you are installing it in a smart home but might deter folks who just want to use the remote. It also means that if you have more than one fan in a room, it is not possible to set the remote codes so you can operate both fans with the same remote.Aside from that really minor thing, this is excellent value and easy to install. At this price, they are a bargain.Aside from that, it is refreshingly easy to install aside from occasional hiccups installing the light into Alexa. And, at this price, if you need to replace the remote, just buy another controller and remote. The control installs through the "smart life" app which is available for android and IOS cell phones, or it can be added as a skill in Alexa.

Very good
This was too big for my fan so I stuck it in the ceiling and ran wires through ceiling electrical box. I have 3 way switch for my light so since there is only one wire for line voltage I could not use the light which is ok with me. If you’ve installed a ceiling fan this is no problem. Still fairly easy even if you haven’t. Pairing with smart life was very easy especially since I already use the app. Alexa automatically put this in because smart life skill is active. One funny thing:I say Alexa turn ceiling fan to low. “OK”Alexa turn ceiling fan to high. “OK”Alexa turn ceiling fan to medium. “I don’t know how to set ceiling fan to that setting”Turns out I have to say turn ceiling fan to 1, 2 or 3. Not even level 1, etc. as it is labeled in smart life. Overall I’m satisfied.

Works awesome with Alexa
Great add on to any ceiling fan. Wiring was a breeze connecting to Alexa was I tad bit challenging tho the explanations to connect to Alexa was not all that clear. You will need to create two different tabs one for the fan and one fro the light to work correctly with Alexa. Never even used the remote but great to have as a back up. The value it added for me was huge being able to control the light and fan independently with Alexa made life super easy. Great product just needed a bit mor explaining on the Alexa connection side.

Works well, just a few product improvement required
It was easy to install, but sorry I hate the beep sound which it does when we press a button on remote or operate from phone app. Besides their is no indicator light, which should be blinking while we pair the device with phone app. Remote control could be slim and designed better, looks like cheap plastic. The device was a tight fit into my ceiling, would be better if you can make it more compact.

Made my life so much easier
I have an older house with older wiring. This product gave me an easy options to control the light and fan separately. The timer was a bonus. I’ve left the light on at night using the timer mode while we were away. It gave me peace of mind. I haven’t used the wifi feature yet. I probably should set it up on my phone before the kids lose the remotes. Great product and great price.

New Modem and fails to connect to wifi 2023
Just giving an update to anyone who came here to find answers to this problem. The Device can only use WPA and WPA2 Security for the 2.4ghz WIFI. My new Modem by Bell the GIGA Hub uses WPA3 as standard. After an hour of trouble shooting why the old modem connected and worked fine but the new one didn't I started to think about what really changed. I used the same WIFI name and password. But the Security changed and although I set it to use WPA2/WPA3 it didn't work but as soon as it went back to just WPA2 it was found and connected. After get it connected again and setup again in the app. I tried to put it back to the WPA2/WPA3 and then just WPA3 to find both wouldn't allow the app to find it. So if you run into this issue just set the 2.4 Ghz band to WPA2 only for security. And yes to start the link don't forget to turn on fan then wait 10 seconds before holding down LIGHT and HI until you hear those 3 beeps. Then search for new device in the app.. Best of Luck
