Good product that works
I saw this on social media and I didn't think it would work, but it does. Nothing is 100%, but 98% of hair was caught by the vacuum and that's good. I'm happy cause I was able to shave, my wife was happy that hit was happy that the facial hair wasn't everywear. The guards work well, a d if you have other Remington power shavers the plug works from other devices.

Stubble Trouble
After the blade assembly on my old Norelco series 7000 vacuum beard trimmer failed recently -- the second such event in the last year -- I decided it was time for a new vacuum trimmer. As I have said before, once you try a vacuum beard trimmer, you will not want a trimmer without this useful feature that keeps cut hairs out of the sink!It seems that Norelco no longer makes the 7000 trimmer -- in fact, some pirate was asking $250 for a Series 7200 model recently -- and the prime contenders seemed to be a Panasonic, a Bell & Howell, and this Remington. As much as I like Panasonic products, that model lacked an internal rechargeable battery. Like Polaroid, the Bell & Howell name no longer denotes a long-time manufacturer of reliable products. So that left the Remington, "Amazon's Choice," which was getting decent reviews and had the features I was looking for -- except one. That is, this trimmer doesn't do "fine stubble." It will cut as close as 2mm, but not down to 0.5mm like the Norelco. This is a bummer to me, but otherwise the trimmer delivers, with what appears to be a durable, well-made design at a reasonable price. The parts click together with precision, and the vacuum feature works well (remember that you have to hold the trimmer vertically, with the cutting head on top).I don't find the comb flimsy, as another reviewer claimed, and the waterproof on/off button resists being turned on accidentally, when the trimmer is packed in a bag, for example. So overall this is probably the best vacuum beard trimmer available at this time, but I hope some manufacturer will introduce a new model that trims finer.PROS:* Adjustable beard length settings.* Comes with additional fine detailing blade.* Vacuum feature keeps sink free of hairs.* Easy-to-clean vacuum compartment.* Good rechargeable battery life.CONS:* Only cuts as fine as 2mm.

Less mess, great trim
Finally a trimmer that keeps me from making a mess of the bathroom. This really does a great job of catching all the trimmed hair when I use it.The trimmer had nice adjustments for the gate and the vacuum feature is why I bought it. I’ve been using it for almost a month without having to charge it so the battery life is great. The only issue is the vacuum area does make it a bit tough for the trimmer head to reach into corners, like the mustache hairs just below your nose. The trimmer handles my facial hair well and it certainly catches most of the trimmings. It says 95% and it seems to live up to it. I still put down a towel but I no longer have to wipe down the entire sink area after trimming and the catch pod is easy to empty.Huge improvement over my old trimmer.

Less mess, not without stress
I was getting really fed up with my bathroom getting covered in hair every time I trimmed my beard and decided to give this vacuum trimmer a try. They advertise up to 90% of trimmings being caught by the vacuum. I felt like maybe it was 80% in practice. The one thing I'll say is I have no more hair literally launching itself forward like I used to - the stray hairs now just fall flat down into the sink mostly. One big downside to me is the flimsy, flexible blade guard. It's only attached at the back and if you use any pressure at all you're going to get an uneven trim that swings wildly. You have to use the lightest touch which is very difficult when getting into grooves and tight spaces of your face. The first time I used it it was pretty noticeable how inconsistent it was. The blade guard adjustments are also very tiny increments and it can be hard to get it to click into the exact number you want. Many times you put the line at one number only to have it click at the number below it. Once it's "clicked" in, it is stopped from going lower but it will slide up to higher numbers without being stopped.Another downside is that with the vacuum chamber at the front, the blade is really far back. This makes trimming around the nose literally impossible. I could not get more than a half inch towards my nose no matter what I tried.I've read some people say they had to use the brush to get the hairs out as they were stuck, but that was not my experience. A light tap on the side of the garbage got it out easily. However if you have a thick or long beard, you will probably clog up the chamber and have this issue and mostly likely need to empty the chamber multiple times as it's not very large. Unfortunately emptying it means taking off and reattaching the blade guard which is a but cumbersome. I can't speak on it definitively, but I'd imagine you might lose some of the vacuum suction if the chamber is more full or the battery is lower. The included edge trimmer could be better. It doesn't get as close as I'd like and does not want to catch every hair without multiple passes. My OneBlade still does this job much better and I also have to use it to get near my nose. It kind of partially defeats the purpose of a vacuum to reduce the mess only to have to use other trimmers to compensate for its shortcomings.All-in-all I'd say it does reduce the mess considerably but it's far from a perfect product.
