This is the BEST stuff to use if you have hard water. I particularly have city water full of chemicals and my hair feels like I just left the salon after one of these treatments. Easy to use and you certainly get the desired outcome - soft, shiny, healthy looking hair!

This stuff is amazing. My daughter and I use it every other month or so, and it really does remove all the build up and other things left behind from environmental and water deposit. It leaves our hair feeling great and not weighed down. This is especially great after traveling or for those who have kids in college, where filters generally aren't in place on shower heads.

My house is on well water, and within a few months living here, my hair started to feel like straw. No salon conditioner made a difference and protein treatments made things worse. That’s when I learned what hard water can do.Leaning on my science background for a minute:Hard water is full of minerals that bond tightly to hair. Regular shampoo can’t break that bond. Malibu C packets contain chelating agents that grab onto the minerals. The Vitamin C helps dissolve leftover residue, and everything rinses away.After just one treatment:My hair felt softer and lighter, almost squeaky-clean. Blonde highlights looked brighterI use one packet every three to four weeks. The powder mixes into a paste and sits on damp hair for five minutes. Focus on your ends, where minerals tend to build up the most, and don’t cut the time short…those five minutes matter.It’s a solid at home treatment, but you do have to keep up with it. Don’t expect salon level results, but for managing hard water buildup between appointments, this works. If you think minerals are messing with your hair, one treatment will let you know.

This is one of my favorite products to use!! I have a water softener but my water still leaves a lot of iron stains on everything, including my hair!! It leaves my hair feeling soft and shiny after use!!

I have naturally curly hair and recently my water quality at home has changed. My hairdresser recommended this due to the hard water - she was so right! I use it once a week and my hair is softer and the frizziness so much less. Works great!

If you have demi-permanant dye in your hair or toner, and did not use this product right before your salon visit, do not use this product until right before you go back to the salon. On the other hand, if you want to strip your color, do use this product.I went to the salon 8 days prior to using this. I did my research first. I'm actually a bit obsessive about researching so it prolongs purchasing things. I've wanted to use a clarifier for a while, since I learned about them, because I have very hard well water. This one was the winner for me. My hair is primarily bleached, with root growth of about 5 months that I get highlighted regularly to blend. Then it gets toned to different shades, depending on what I'm going for. This product, on one hand is amazing. My hair has never felt so clean. My natural hair that has grown in since fully bleaching my hair was shiny, smooth, and beautiful. What I wasn't expecting was for the rest of my hair to be completely stripped back to the bleach only. It went from a creamy chocolate (stunning blonde; I highly recommend trying that color toner) to a super light, summer blonde.After reaching out to malibu c on their Facebook page, they informed me that if I didn't use this treatment on my hair prior to getting it done, the color would sit on the mineral buildup and therefore come off with it. I greatly appreciate their feedback and learning this. I asked if they would consider putting this information in their directions or product description. They did not respond. So, while I don't leave long reviews typically, I'd like others who research products to be able to take into consideration there is a time to use Malibu C hardwater treatment, and it is not after going to the salon and paying for the hair you want, it is before. I will continue to use this product because it is amazing, albeit at the right time.I gave it 3 stars for the misleading information which caused me to wash $$$ down the drain but the treatment itself is 5 stars.

This is how I survive our hard water. I use twice a month, condition after. Highly recommend. Especially useful before getting your hair colored to help the color take.
