Five stars!
This review is for the The DigiTech Mosaic Polyphonic 12-String effect pedal. This product has been out for many years and seems to be one of the few to get the job done. The DigiTech and the Boss pedals are really the kind of stomp boxes that use the "if it's not broke don't fix it" adage. I currently use it with a solid body electric strat guitar. AFTER LOOKING AT MORE THAN AN INFINITE NUMBER OF YouTube reviews, I had it narrowed down between the DigiTech in the Boss emulators. Since I didn't need reverb, I went for the Mosaic's simplicity. The DigiTech and Boss FX are both good, yet have a slight different sound depending on your preference. • gets me that 12-string emulation, without (tuning and) dragging a 12-string around. • use it "in" the effects pedal loop for a guitar processor... or as I do: the first/only stop box ahead of my guitar processor. • additionally is a great effect to use to fatten up a lead sound. CONS: • may seem a little pricey, yet options are few and far between for 12-string emulators. In addition, it's comparably priced with its other major competitor from Boss. • YES. You'll get those guitar purists that will say nothing beats a 12-string for that REAL 12-string sound. To them I say: Duh... Okay... so why don't you own a Rickenbacker 12-string yourself? For all others like us that live in reality, the DigiTech Moasic 12-string guitar emulator is a great buy!

Gets The Job Done Rather Well
There are hundreds of pedals on the maket today, but the Mosaic is the only one I've found that's specifically designed to emulate a twelve string. It doesn't perfectly replicate the sound, but it comes close. Close enough to fool most listeners with the exception of actual twelve string owners. It's a perfect complement for my Rickenbacker 350V6 and Vox AC15C1X for that British invasion sound. You do get a small amount of harmonic bleedover on the high notes but it's not highly noticeable. The low notes sound awesome once you get it dialed in right. I use this pedal quite a bit, which is more than I can say about some I own. It has a sturdy build and would definitely be replaced if it bites the dust.

Great 12 string sound!
The DigiTech Mosaic is a cool pedal for guitarists who want to add a unique, full-sounding octave-up effect to their playing. It transforms your guitar tone into a rich, 12 string sound, giving you that classic, jangly vibe without needing an actual 12 string guitar. Super easy to use, it’s a great tool for adding some depth and texture to your sound, whether you’re recording or playing live. I love using it when my band plays Tom Petty songs! It's a great addition to our overall sound.

An Excellent Addition To My Pedal Board!
After shopping around and comparing many options for a unique pedal to enhance my pedal board, I found the Mosaic. It is more than an octave pedal; can brighten tone; has a wide range of sonic possibilities from subtle to full on. Add a bit of compression and a light chorus on it and you have a very nice chimey, shimmering guitar sound. Good tracking on bends, and does a good job of replicating a 12 string. Play "Stairway" without having to lug around a ES 1275 double neck!!!! HaHa!

Really great until......
I was really impressed with this unit....until....I picked up a 12 string acoustic....then realized this was not even close. If you turn the tone knob to full treble...it gives the best 12 string sound. But...it's shrill sounding. Moving the tone to the center seems to lose the 12 string effect and has a piano sound to it. Take the $100 dollars plus for this pedal and put it towards a 12 string of your choice...or...turn the chorus echo up and add a little reverb....comes closer to a 12 string than this unit...makes an expensive paper weight

Doesn't play well with pedalboard power supplies
For electric guitars, it sounds fine. Sort of reminiscent of a 12-string Rickenbacker, like what Roger McGuinn used on some of the Byrds songs. For acoustic guitar, the effect isn't so good. Sounds almost like a pipe organ, but I bought it for electric guitar so that's not a big deal. The main reason I only gave it three stars is because you have to use the dedicated power supply that comes with it (see added comment below). My pedalboards each have Voodoo Lab power supplies that provide power to each pedal from one source, but I can't use them with the Mosaic or it won't turn on. So the Mosaic sits by itself beside my pedalboard. This makes it a PITA to use because you not only have to find an extra AC outlet nearby, but you also have to have an extra instrument patch cord to connect it in line with your pedalboard. You may also need to have an extra AC extension cord handy to power it up because the adapter's cord isn't very long. To me this is a design flaw and an inconvenience when setting up for gigs. I'm wishing now that I had bought the Boss OC-5. Added 1/28/22: Another issue: The Mosaic's power supply introduces a great deal of hum if it is plugged into the same power strip that the amp and pedalboard use. The Mosaic's power supply needs to be plugged into a separate circuit. I'm liking this pedal less and less each time I use it.

Amazingly realistic 12-String simulation
Unfortunately - the unit I purchased from Amazon was dead on arrival and I returned it (no hassle). Just bad luck from the seller who had a defective unit. But I went and purchased it elsewhere to avoid the risk that the seller had a bad batch (there are multiple sellers on Amazon). The one I got from another seller, works amazingly well. I'm a pro player and unless you are playing side-by-side with a real 12-string (electric) it is almost impossible even to the most experienced ear to tell that you are actually playing a 6-string guitar. Very very impressed. Much less expensive than it's other competitor and very realistic.

Save up for a 12 string
Works sometimes….not for leads. For clean, simple chords it’s okay. Otherwise, it’s just a mushy delay.

Selling my SG double neck as I haven't played it much, but I didn't want to go without a 12 string completely. Although not 100% 12 string replacement, it's value is far beyond the initial thought of replacing a 12 string. You can get such great sounds of of this thing for recording, live, or whatever and the pedal is worth it just for that. Now, add the benefit of not having another guitar to string/maintain/store/upgrade...and of course not having to tune or play an actual 12 string?!?! YES Please! This is my one of my favorite pedals now.

Schnelle Lieferung, sichere Verpackung.

Does create a thicker sound and a really great effect. The controls are effective and the unit sturdy, fun design as well. Price was fair.

Premessa.
