Concise, but informative.
If you need to plunge into Azure, it will take you a while, and reading several books & technical documentation.Fortunately, books as the present one, will explain you the basic in a clear and concise manner, allowing you to set the foundations and also , help you in discovering and focusing in areas of your interest. This book also offers way more than snippets of code, it gives you just enough code samples on the core subjects in order to get you started, so you can tackle the most important tasks from the get go , after reading it.Totally recommended.

Great resource to get you started with Azure and Azure Portal
If you have a working, hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, but have yet to dibble into Azure, this book is truly a great resource to get you started. It is worth keeping in mind that this book brings information and how-to primarily from Azure perspective, demystifying Azure Portal, included wizards and other available options. It will help you get around in Azure portal, create your first VM and virtual network, storage account and backup, while also covering most other common IaaS scenarios, and introducing reader to other available services on Azure.

Great hands-on guide for running Microsoft workloads in the cloud
Fantastic book with great insights on how to manage, run, deploy and automate your cloud environment. Although it’s focused on Azure, I find it truly helpful for running Microsoft workloads in the cloud regardless of the platform, especially networking, security and migration aspects of it....

Not bad
I would retitle the book something like Azure for beginners or Azure 101. If you have a little experience in Azure building a lab of you own using an Azure pass, you might not learn much from this book. The price is not really justified to me. This is the price that you generally pay when you deep dive into a technology.

Great book for all aspiring Cloud IT professionals
Very detailed book, includes various chapters that covers topics for System Enginerrs, DBA, DevOps and some Software Development. It is hands on and will help novice users to get started and upgrade skills with latest trends.

Horrible print quality
The print quality of this book is quite bad. It is though the publisher's printer was running out of toner. While the text is readable, the images, screenshots and code are barely legible. I know they also offer an e-book version, but I'm old school and prefer a hardcopy personally. Packt really need to up their game, especially for a $50 book!

coding (programming lines of scripts) are unnecessarily wasting the space.Instead a CD can be attached.Questions after each chapter are not challenging .very simple
