The mud is extremely thick and hard, like clay. I had to add water to it in order to make it a consistency that would allow me to apply it to the skin. Then, it took a really long time to dry (over 30 minutes), compared to others I have used. The mud's smell is really unpleasant, and the smell remained in the room for days after I used the product. The pros: Rinsing the dried mud off wasn't an issue, and my skin did feel refreshed afterwards. Because it's necessary to add water to the the mud, a little goes a long way.

We got this as a replacement for the moor mud we had been using, mainly because of the low price point. It smells great, but we could tell that it definitely didn't have the same outcome as the moor mud, so we switched back immediately.

I would definitely recommend this product. I use it every few weeks, when I feel my face needs some deep cleansing. I usually wash my face with really warm water before applying the mask. Hot enough to open up the pores, but not hot enough to burn or be unbearable. After you apply it, your skin definitely burns as it dries. You just have to power through it! When rinsing it off, I recommend being very gentle, as your skin WILL feel a bit sensitive. The results are worth it though! My skin feels clean and refreshed.
