Carrol Jo Hummer - A working man who's had enough! A young Air Force veteran, Carrol Jo Hummer (Jan-Michael Vincent, TV's "Airwolf"), starts a business as the owner-operator of a thirteen-speed, seven-and-one-half-ton diesel truck, which he "dresses up" and names "The Blue Mule." With his bride, Jerri (Kay Lenz, Falling from Grace), he sets off to Tucson, Arizona, where his old friend Duane (Slim Pickens, Dr. Strangelove), the manager of a trucking company, gets him a job. But after Carrol Jo realizes he will be carrying illegal cargo and refuses the assignment, he's beaten by a band of gangsters working for an organized group of criminals headed by Cutler (Don Porter, 711 Ocean Drive). When Carrol Jo's commitment to staying honest results in even further violent retribution from the trucking syndicate, he has no choice but to team up with other independent truckers to break Cutler's stranglehold and uphold the rights of the decent working man. "White Line Fever is a good action drama." - Variety Starring: Jan-Michael Vincent, Slim Pickens, Kay Lenz

living my dream
I was 12 years old when this movie came out, i saw it at capitol drive inns in san jose ca. This movie inspired me to drive big rigs and from that time in 1975 i did everything i could to save what little money i made from delivering papers to helping people at the grocery store push their carts to their cars and load their groceries, some gave a quarter some gave a dollar and some gave a thanks and i still welcomed them. I also mowed lawns, picked up dog stuff and pulled weeds and i loved it. The money i saved by the time i was sixteen just pushed me harder, by 1980 i had over 5000 dollars. All my life then my father was an alchoholic, a mean one, i did not see him much but when i did i was getting my ass kicked for some reason or another, but one day i was going to put some more money in my stash and it was gone, my dad had found it and he told me that a boy my age had no buisness having that much money and that was that, i knew better than to tell my mother cause that would have gotten her beat up. Well a few months later a man that lived down the street from us had his own paint buiss and i asked him if i could clean up for him or something to make a few bucks and before long i was painting houses and pretty darn good. he also drank alot and would blow up from time to time. Well one day i was in the back of the pick up with all the ladders and tool boxes and paint looking for a roller and sleeve when my boss came running out of the house yelling and cussing for what reason i still dont know today and he jumped in the truck and took off and was really moving all the while im banging on the cab and thats all i remember to this day. I woke up 18 months later in santa teresa hospital and i swear the first thing that came to mind was not giving up, the blue mule was hard on my mind. well at the time of the accident i was 16 and when i woke up i was 18 and i was just putting all these ways of making money in my head when to my suprise i had all these checks an attorney was holding for me from a lawsuit totaling 897000.000. at the age 21 i bought a new pete, and im still trucking.

B movie classic trucker 70's fun!
I love this movie! I saw it when it was released as a kid, back in 1975. I am at the age where my childhood, and everything that I liked back then is new again. I am glad I was able to obtain this movie. It was reasonably priced, too. Slim Pickens, Kay Lenz, and Jan Michael Vincent in their prime! The bad guy from the karate kid plays a dock-worker,Jan Michael Vincent plays Carol Jo Hummer, an independant trucker who just got out of the military, gets married, and goes to the bank to get financing for his purchase. Classic big rigs, as he walks across the sales lot and the salesman describes the truck he will buy with some technical specs. It starts out upbeat and happy, a bright future ahead for this independant trucker! It is when he goes to get work that he finds out he must break the law, and haul slot machines and cigarettes! It all goes down hill from there. A truly great movie, packed with things "they can't do these days" and more. I am also going to purchase the VHS, to compare any differences.

Stomach Turning Trash
Racist trash, use of words no movie would use in the past 30 years. Poor cinematography, extended time filling scenes.

A fun 70's flick
The film quality in this 70's flick is really impressive; razor sharp, as if shot with today's technology.

My weirdo friend that loves crappy old movies that everyone else has either never heard of or hates, absolutely loved this movie.

Love this great old trucking movie. Was still as good a watch as when I first saw it on the big screen. Good quality DVD. If you enjoy old school trucking and Jan Michael Vincent its worth the purchase.
