Ortopad® Bamboo Girls Eye Patches, 50/Box (Regular Size, 4+ yrs) Ice Cream Pack

I love these eye patches !! My daughter had started to develop a lazy eye and the the ophthalmologist had recommended us to start patching her eye so I came across these on my search!! Already bought 2 and going to be buying more !! I always like to clean and dry her face before applying the patch and it has a better hold. My area is very high in humidity so sometimes it will start to come off but I just simply tape it up a bit with Nexcare Gentle paper first aid tape and it worked perfectly. At first when I started patching her eye it was a slight struggle because she would want to remove it right away but I worked with her, I would apply the patch when she was most distracted with play time and if I notice she wasn’t to into playing I would join her for a bit to distract her again, I started off with a hour in a half on the patch then I would increase it a couple days later till I got it for her max time of 3 hours... now she doesn’t bother with the patch anymore and she will go on playing like normal. I started noticing a eye difference by the second month of constantly applying the patch once a day!! She is a tiny little girl she I do have to angle the patch to make it work on her face, but it still works and I buy both girl and boy version just to give her variety and she loves them both!! Will highly recommend this patch to others !

Phoebe my 7 year old daughters right eye is lazy. So she can not focus well, her vision is 20/40 and her right eye often floats to the side. She has had this for as long as I can remember. But now that she is in cheer leading they wanted to try to correct the problem. I figured it is better to do it now then wait till she is older. Her doctor has her wearing these eye patches for 2 hours a day every day for 90 days. She loves the look of the patches and says it makes her look like a pirate. When she first started wearing them, my husband would wear an eye patch at the same time so they could be twins and so she would feel more comfortable. But now she is so comfortable with it she asked daddy to stop wearing his. She leaves the house to play with her friends with it on. She even matches her clothes with the patch she is going to wear for the day. Which I LOVE!! The design side is smooth and a little fuzzy. The back side is just like a bandage with the cotton spot and the sticky sides. Once it is time for it to come off, it comes off really easy and does not leave any marks. Some times if I do not pull her hair out of the way enough it catches her hair a little but it is not to bad. Would recommend these to anyone looking to correct a lazy eye or just looking to be a cool stylish pirate. I do wish the price was a little less but $20 for 50 patches still is not to bad.

My 6 year old daughter has lazy eye so in addition to getting glasses, we needed to start patching for a couple hours a day. I bought this product after reading the excelent comments about it, and really we love these patches! The regular size fits a 6 year old very well and since she only wears them for a couple hours a day, we are able to save the patch and use them for two days. She loves to be able to pick out which design she wants to wear that day. The patches don't leave her skin red or irritated. They are a soft material so they are comfortable for her to wear. They peel off similar to a Band-Aid but they don't seem to hurt her when I remove them. We've had a great experience with these patches and will continue to buy these for as long as we need them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs them for patching. Excellent product!!NOTE: If you have some trouble with them being too sticky, here's what we do, after reading other comments too releated to this. With clean hands I stick them to the palm of my hand or the superior part of my hand first and remove one or two times. It wears off some of the sticky before putting it on kids face.

My 5 yr old little girl, of course, didn't want to wear an eye patch. But as it was a medical necessity to assist in developing a lazy right eye, we had to do it. The first time we put one of these on her, she fidgeted and fussed the entire two hours. Next day wasn't as bad, and now (a week later) she doesn't even think about it.Other than her initial distaste for having her good eye covered, her only complaint was peeling the patch off her skin when time was up. But even that intimidation of pain has gone away and she peels the patch off easily herself and without complain.I give this thing 5 stars because the patterns give her something to look forward to when having to put on a patch, the adhesive is strong enough that the patch doesn't fall off when we're playing tag (though her visibility is limited and she sometimes runs into trees and such), yet is gentle enough that she can peel it off herself without any pain or losing eyebrows. All in all, we are very happy with these patches and if need be, we'll buy them again, though will be on the look out for different patterns to help keep things intersting!

Eye patch works great & my daughter loves that she can choose her daily patch. There are so many options that we can match or contrast the patch with her outfit. The eye patch does not pull skin too bad, so my daughter has gotten used to it pretty quickly. It did take longer than I thought it would to arrive. My daughter likes this eye patch multi-pack the best. One annoying thing is that this pack as well as the other multi-pack has green and red ladybugs & my daughter likes those the least.I am glad the eye patch holds well even in hot weather when my daughter's skin gets sweaty. Our eye Dr also suggested making pictures with the used patches so that they don't go to waste and as a way to chart her progress. Making art out of her patch has put a bit of excitement into having to wear the patch. You can make an image like on the box or print out images from Ortopad to stick the patches on. I have used coloring pages we had too.

Ortopads for kids are cute, sized well, and stay on. We had tried a fabric patch, held in place by an elastic -- like a PIRATE!! -- which our five-year-old loved. We preferred the idea of a reusable patch, but, sadly, that patch would not stay in place. After two or three days of struggle, we gave up.Ortopads stay put, and after a couple of minutes, our five-year-old seems to be unaware it's even there. She never touches or fiddles with it while she wears it. Though, gotta be honest here, when we tell her she can take it off there's a big "YAAAYYY!" as she pulls it off. (She prefers to do it herself.) At first she complained that it hurt when it came off. Now she doesn't even notice.She likes to choose which one to wear each morning. We'll put out one of each, and she chooses the one that best matches her outfit. So far, the pink one with the purple castles is the clear favourite! (Possibly because she has a lot of pink and purple in her wardrobe...)Best yet, they're working. Her wandering eye is tracking much better now.Five stars for an excellent product!

We are using it to patch my child’s eye who is under therapy. Quality is really good and it serves the purpose!

We used this brand a lot last year, however I believe they've changed the adhesive because the minute you put it on it comes off. Very annoying and dissatisfied. We switched to a different brand.

A whole lot more expensive as opposed to the washable eyepatches but they do work. Initially was a skeptic since i wanted the washable ones but am now a believer since my wife pointed out that those ones would still let light pass through because they're not properly sealed when placed on the eye which made sense. My daughters lazy eye has slowly gotten better over time now and its because of these patches thats to thank for, this was confirmed by her optometrist. Remember to tell them they’re “pirate patches” to initially make them excited to wear it. That would last a whole 2 minutes then you can turn the stern parent mode on after that to male them keep it on
