The Maple Tapper Black Spiles kit contains 10 - 5/16” plastic Black Spiles. The plastic spiles are a well-made food grade quality product that is reusable from season to season. In Maple tapping 5/16” spiles are referred to as “Tree Saver” spiles as they do less damage to the tree than the traditional 7/16” wood or metal spiles, and encourage faster tap hole healing which is beneficial to your trees and your production of fresh maple syrup. Use this kit to replenish or add to your current Maple tapping supplies or if you are just starting out. The quality made spiles will last for many seasons with proper use and care. This spile type is used with 5/16” flexible tubing which is not included in this kit.
