LIBRA 10" x2-1/4 Trailer Hydraulic Free Backing Marine Brakes Pair- 21016

Second set for 20' bass boat tandem axle trailer. 1st set lasted 5yrs of pretty heavy use. Fairly easy install if mechanically inclined, adjust wheel for shoes kinda of a pain to turn. Will be buying again when needed.

These fit like a dream! They function great and were a great value for the money spent. They should outlast my trailer.

easy install to replace the surge brakes on my boat trailer. 4 bolts and you're done! I replaced the brake lines , and actuator, also. With everything new, it bled easily, adjusted perfectly all by itself, and they work great. I don't have to do anything to back up, either.

The install was easy and perfect fit on 3500lb axle EZ loader Trailer. The shoes were already adjusted close to where they needed to be. The metal was corrosion resistant plating, and should provide good service if salt water is rinsed. I installed a system with a 3/8 brass fitting through the backing plate that connects to a hose fitting on the trailer making the rinse part easier.

New to boating and having purchased a second-hand vessel with trailer, I discovered the trailer to be in critical condition! Overhaul at a dealership for trailers, or a marina, would cost $$$. I discovered all the parts I required online at Amazon and undertook the work myself with outstanding results! This kit with complete backing plates and brake systems made the job a snap and for far, far less than a shop would have charged me. The pieces appear to be excellent quality and should last me several seasons before they too succumb to death by salt water. My trailer is safe to tow anyplace now.

Work grease and installed perfect. Noticed when taking a turn I can hear the drum rubbing the backing plate. Rechecked the wheel bearings and no play. Drum did not hit the old backing plates, using same drums being I machined them for the new shoes .

These seem to be better quality than the OEM brakes that were replaced as everything appears to be stainless steel. The OEM had several non-stainless components that were severely corroded. I was just going to replace the shoes, but I'm glad I got the whole assembly. Hint: If you're like me and haven't done any work on drum brakes in years, (like 25 years) take a few minutes to reacquaint yourself with the process. At first I though they didn't fit because I had installed the brake line before putting the drum back on. I pushed in the brake cylinder, thinking it was fully compressed, like I would with a disk caliper but gravity was causing the brake fluid to fill cylinder just enough that by the time I picked up the drum it wouldn't go back on. Ha! took me a WHILE to figure out what was going on. Install the drum first - then the brake line. Hopefully that saves someone else a few headaches.

These brakes arrived extremely quickly. They fit perfectly and there was no adjustments of anything required to install them. Brakes lines hooked right up. Very pleased with the extremely fast shipping and packaging of this product. The quality appears to be very good.

I bought these for me 1999 shoreland'r trailer and the fit great. Little tight on one side for the bolts, but other than that, worked very well.

Fit well and good quality. Only negative is you’ll need 4 new bolts per side. Bolt holes are larger than 7/16” as well, so there is a slight amount of play if not using the proper press in Studs.
