Cost effective solution for rotted woodwork
Have used this extensively in conjunction with Ronseal wood hardener to repair/rebuild rotted sash window frames and external doors. For near horizontal surfaces it’s great for filling holes of almost any depth in one go but for vertical surfaces I find that the filler does tend to sag whilst setting and it’s best either to build the filler in multiple layers or provide some kind of support to hold the filler whilst it sets. I used strips of flat rigid plastic material to hold the filler and this has the added benefit of producing a smooth surface finish. Even on flat surfaces I’ll use plastic, purely for this reason. The filler will not form a bond to plastic and it can be easily peeled off. It sets rapidly with a working time of 10 - 15 min so it’s best to make up multiple small batches (taking care not to add excessive hardener! ) rather than one large one to avoid it setting up before it’s all been used. Disposable gloves are a must when working with the product as it’s very easy to end up with it stuck to fingers. Once set it’s incredibly hard and easy to sand prior to painting. It doesn’t appear to shrink or crack over time though the earliest repair is only around 18 months old. It’s not a cheap product but it is very cost effective when compared with the cost of cutting out and replacing partially rotted woodwork, which would often require professional help. All in all the product has been ideal for this type of application and I would certainly use again.

Very effective
Not cheap but a lot cheaper, and quicker, than using conventional carpentry to repair rot, especially in hard to reach or difficult places. Sets like concrete. Supplied with more than enough of the hardener you have to add to make it set. Very strong fumes & dust is harmful if inhaled, use a proper safety mask (not a paper one) especially when sanding down.

The best filler I have used
Good stuff. A little expensive, but it works and I'd buy it in preference to anything else for wood repairs.

20' or less and ready to go
Used on many box sash windows, very good - use small amounts at a time to get a great finish. It sets quickly so allows multiple applications over a short period of time. Can sand within 20', Sets very hard. Then painted with undercoat/primer, sanded final ready for gloss coat - looks great - hopefully will last well to.Used on some rotton wood, so used wet rot wood hardener first - can use this after 2 hours - overnight possibly better though. Very good when restoring.

Excellent product
Being a proffesional property refurbishment business, using to the right products is a must. This product is effortless and helped maintain our KPI times on client properties.Other products that take 24 to 48 hours to set are not ideal.

Great for what it does.
Large tin but very worth it if you use it a lot.
