PSE ARCHERY Guide Youth Compound Bow Set

I'm very pleased with this lil bow. I have a 4 year old daughter that enjoys target shooting with me and she's developed descent shooting skill with her lil recurve I made her but she wanted a compound bow set up like mine. I had trouble finding one on the market that would adjust down to her draw length with a weight she could pull, it was also tuff to find one you could put a peep sight in the string and mount a real sight, and stabilizers setting it up with all the bells and whistles. I was able to accomplish all this with this bow and she loves it and it will last her a long time because I'm able to adjust it as she grows.

Good construction, has a nice weight to it. The box it arrived in was trash but the PPE Guide was undamaged. Very easy to remove from the packaging and took me about 10-15 minutes to adjust it to the Draw Weight and Length I needed for my son, approximately 24 lbs at 22 inches. I had never seen this type of adjustment method before and it only took me a few minutes to figure out what did what. The red half circle things on the cams adjust the draw weight while the little red peg thing on the top cam adjusts draw length. The arrow rest is different but it holds the arrow and is flimsy enough that I don't anticipate any issue this weekend. I have never used finger rollers before but when my son pulled the string back he didn't complain at all, usually he does when he's not wearing a glove. The let off is pretty far back on the pull and if the weight is on the higher end of the spectrum while the draw length is on the lower end the let off disappears. The sight pin is pretty basic, a single pin through the slot in the riser. Ordered a peep sight that should be here by the weekend, the string is a regular bow string that will allow peep sight installation.Looking forward to seeing my son shoot it and will update this review when he does.

Great beginners bow. The only complaint I have is that installing the sight is more work than it's worth. Other than that, the bow is extremely easy to use and adjust as the child gains strength.I would definitely recommend this bow to any young archer and the price point is perfect for parents who want to see if their child enjoys archery.

PSE honestly made this p.o.s.? Cheesiest pile of garbage bow I have ever seen. Arrow rest is literally a little flap of plastic/rubber. Bought a capture rest before receiving the bow, seems like they designed this bow to where I cant even put it on. Says there is a sight included which I have failed to find in the little crappy snap off plastic pieces that come on the packaging. Looks nice, but nothing but a short coming from a company I expected a hell of a lot more from. Do not buy this useless piece of crap. I will never buy another PSE product ever again, adult bow or nah...they lost my faith. Mind blown...ordering a new bow for my daughter, probably going bear archery this time. Anything will be better than this.

This bow is perfect for an 8 year old that’s never shot a bow. It should grow with him and I am pleased with the quality and size of the kids bow.

So i found the stock photo's and reviews to be a bit confusing/misleading. However. being a PSE owner/hunter i knew the brand to be great. What really sold it for me was the flexibility in adjusting the draw length/weight making the bow very universal. The comparable brands of started bows were very limited to the draw length of 19' and my daughters span was much longer. Again being a hug supporter of PSE i did find a couple things disappointing that i found uncharacteristic of the PSE standards. The arrow rest in the stock photo shows a whisker biscuit hybrid sort of thing that isn't what i got. The rest was this cheap rubber C looking arrow rest sort of thing (I'll try to get a picture and post). I immediately removed it and attempted to replace, but to only find the hole wasn't threaded. I was able to attach a spare whisker biscuit with a bolt and nut. Just don't understand why they couldn't have threaded the arrow rest and made it possible to mount a after market sight. Again i get its a very basic and low level of bow meant for young children starting out. However, these tiny little things could be a huge improvement to the model and crush the comparable brands in the entry level starter bows.

I really like this bow, it grows with my kids. We've been able to increase the draw as the kids get stronger. It is easy to add extras are remove what we don't want. The arrows that came with it aren't very useful though.
