Cute little pen .
I had not realized that this was a pocket pen as it is very small . It is comfortable to write with when posted . The nib is smooth with a little feedback but not scratchy . I ordered a medium , however being Japanese it writes like a fine . The pen is well made and feels sturdy . I ordered the transparent with orange and I inked with a bright orange ink . Very nice !

A smooth-writing, cute little pen
I just received this pen tonight. I have bought Pilot pens before; I own three Pilot Metropolitan fountain pens. This pen lives up to the quality I have come to expect from Pilot. The medium nib writes more like an German fine, but I had expected that from a Japanese pen. It writes very smoothly and doesn't need any fine tuning. Comes with a converter. This particular converter has a little bead inside it, which helps to break the surface tension of the ink and allows it to flow easily. This is a very small pen, but that suits my small hands. It's really very cute! I wouldn't recommend it for someone with very large hands, however. I got the red one. I also happened to get the perfect matching ink the same day for it. It's J. Herbin, Rouge Opera. I have the habit of coordinating my inks with my pens, and this one matches perfectly; the pen ends and the ink are a light, cheerful red. A very nice pen and I will probably get a couple more in different colors.

Very small unless posted
This pen is surprisingly very short, almost child-sized, but when posted it is quite comfortable for my medium-large hands. The compact nature of the pen would make it ideal for carting around. The one thing I don't love about this pen, and Pilot pens in general, is that Japanese nibs run narrower than Euro-American nibs: Their medium is like our fine; their fine is like our extra-fine. Since the Prera only comes with fine or medium nibs, there is really no choice but to get a narrower written line. But while finer, the smoothness is outstanding.Bottom line: I really like the feel and smoothness of this pen. The diminutive size isn't a problem when the pen is posted, but the pen's nib is better suited to someone who likes really thin lines. The photo shows a size comparison of three popular pens: the Lamy Al-Star (top), the Prera (center) and the Twsbi Eco.

Beautiful writing, beautiful pen (especially with a nice ink)
This is my first Pilot Prera. So far I really like the pen. Pilot in general have won me over for high quality in even their cheaper fountain pens. Writing with this Prera is exceptionally smooth. I paired it with some Pilot Iroshizuku Kon-Peki and that only makes the writing experience more pleasant. The clear body is one feature that I really enjoy. Luckily I read some reviews prior to buying and was not too surprised by the size of the pen. It is smaller that it appeared to me in the photos but unlike many pens, the balance feels great with the cap posted which also extends the length to fit my hand better. I like the medium nib on Pilots as they are more like the fine nibs on European models. I tried a fine nib on a metropolitan pen and it is too thin to really take advantage of many of the fine inks out there. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mid range demonstrator style fountain pen.

Awesome Pen even for big hands
Got the pen quicker than expected. Looking at reviews many call this pen tiny vs other fountain pen brands and since this is my first one, I didnt have any to show next to them. If you are interested in this style of pen and looking to get one, I did include some pictures of pens I regularly used next to the prera (the pilot g7 and staples gel) and they are much larger even with the prera posted. All and all the size doesnt bother me. I am 6'3 with large hands and it doesn't feel tiny at all or make me look awkward writing with it. Fits nicely with or without being posted. It writes really well and is delivers the ink to the paper very smoothly without dely or any hiccups. Id say the point is slightly larger than the g7 and is more between a Fine and Medium point vs the medium as advertised. AlI in all, I really recommend this pen.

Great compact pen
Nice compact pen that is really comfortable when posted but not so small that it couldn't be used unposted. Nib is nice and smooth with good flow.
