V-Shape Cushion

Allows for longer sit time, with comfort
I have a lot of back pain issues. This is FINALLY a cushion that works.... for me. It is very heavy as mentioned by others. Not one you would use for taking to Sangha or trips. It has made it possible for me not to have to move and my legs don't have the numbing until well into 45 minutes where before it was 15 minutes. I can put it up against the wall so there is even more of an angle to prop you up. It's movable as far as the "legs" you can move them to fit your particular posture that sit. If you suffer from back pain, try it. It truly has changed by sit time and quality of it.

A big improvement over a round zafu
I'm older, have some arthritis, and recently have been struggling with finding a good support for meditation. On impulse, I got one of these, and immediately decided it was the best seat I'd ever had.For many years I used a round zafu filled with kapok (fiber), but recently, I've been unable to get comfortable. If I sat properly upright, my legs fell asleep within 15 minutes. If I sat back, my coccyx hurt, and, because I wasn't up straight, the meditation went poorly. (I sit in "Burmese posture" -- with the legs in triangle shapes, but one leg in front of the other rather than on top of the other.)I tried chairs, benches, alternate postures, and pretty much all of them were no significant help. I experimented with putting a cushion under a zafu -- some help, but then it gets tricky to get everything lined up. I was about to try putting beanbags under my knees, when I found out about this cushion. My immediate response was, "This is a keeper" -- my position was so much improved that I automatically was able to meditate better -- less likely to get drowsy or agitated. It is taking a while to get completely used to it, and to get my body used to 30 - 45 minute meditation sessions, but this cushion made an immediate, large, improvement. As others have mentioned, it's filled with buckwheat hulls, and so it is much heavier than a zafu. It has a convenient carrying handle with a tag on it, so it's really not a big deal to carry. I'd be tempted to wish for the same cushion stuffed with kapok, but hey.My suggestion: Sit on it, get comfy, and then have someone check your posture. If you're too high, it's easy to take out some buckwheat hulls. If you're too low, you can hold one end in each hand and shake some hulls up towards the center. Once you know what the right posture is, happy meditations.

Great Discovery for me
I have hip and leg pain from osteoarthritis. Also not very open hips. This cushion is so comfortable and my legs and hips do not hurt. I have been meditating for many years and used a "smile" cushion for years but as the arthritis got worse, my legs and hips would begin to hurt soon after sitting. This cushion provides support for my legs and I am able to sit in the cross-legged position I prefer with little discomfort. This is the same cushion sold by Hugger Mugger through their website at the same price BUT with Amazon Prime, you get free shipping.

High quality meditation cushion!
This meditation cushion has really helped deepen my meditation practice. It is soft yet durable, and is the perfect height for me to keep my hips above my knees so that I can keep my back straight. I've had it for close to a year now, and only now it's starting to get crushed a little bit from daily use, but still works great. Just need to fluff it up a little and it's back to normal. Love the little wings as well - they help support more than a traditional round meditation cushion. Would highly recommend it!

Very comfortable
I've been trying to establish a meditation practice for a few years, but never bought a meditation cushion since I knew that I had a hard time sticking to my practice. I decided to treat myself to this cushion after reading the great reviews about it and since I wanted to start a practice for 2014. I love it!It's very comfortable, and the buckwheat hulls aren't super packed in, which means that you can adjust it to fit your body frame more comfortably. The fabric is also very nice and thick. It helps keep your back upright and tall while you sit. I constantly have low back pain due to my poor posture, but this makes my back feel good. This thing is also very heavy, but there is a carrying handle on the top that makes it easy to carry around. I also plan on leaving it in a small corner of a spare bedroom, where I set up a meditation space.Really nice quality!

It's ok
The photo makes this yoga cushion look plump and a rich, bright shade of purple. Probably the light they used to photograph it with brought out the color, because it is really a dark, dull plum color. It is also not nearly as plump as it looks. I was surprised and disappointed, since I already own a very thick, plump V-shaped cushion stuffed with cotton batting from another company. I was getting numbness in my feet and ankles, so I thought I would try this one, which is stuffed with buckwheat hulls, and which someone said they use to avoid numbness. I still get numbness because of the pressure on the outsides of my feet and ankles, which press on the floor. I can't do a full yoga position, so the only solution I have found is to place this cushion on top of my other cushion. Together they lift me higher off the floor and take the pressure off my feet and ankles.

Good product, could use an inner lining, not sold on the shape
Quality product, but I agree with the reviewer who dinged it a star for lack of an inner lining. I've owned this a little over 8 months. I'm tall but fairly flexible, and prefer to meditate in the siddhasana position, sometimes lotus. I actually found this cushion too high for my preference (even with removing fill), and it's more comfortable to use it in the "Burmese" position rather than my preferred ones. I recommend that prospective buyers try a few different-shaped cushions if possible. I expected this shape to be perfect for me, but it turned out that I like round or rectangular cushions more. I'm going to switch to the M*****a meditation cushion, which is round, buckwheat filled, has an inner lining, but is only 3.5" high. I'll still retain this Hugger Mugger cushion for occasional use and general sitting.
