I had thought of getting prescription sports glasses for some time but was always deterred by cost and what I thought was the inability to change lenses for changing conditions. These glasses are perfect and the service was outstanding. I also got my prescription lenses from Rapid Eyewear. I emailed them my prescription; they called me from the UK to get my credit card information. I had the lenses within 5 days. Total cost: $165! I've been using for a year now, mostly for cycling. I have no complaints. They are great and provide much better visibility and eye protection than the normal glasses I was wearing for riding. I treat them with care and they've held up well. I highly recommend them if you wear prescription glasses.

These glasses are far less expensive than any alternatives. The service from Rapid Eyewear is outstanding. More details from my experience below.I need prescription glasses for cycling. It's always been an expensive hassle to get a good pair. For the last few years I've been using an Alpine frame. When the rx inserts started to fall out of the Alpine, I decided to replace them. Getting a new pair looked like it was going to cost me well over $300, so I did some web browsing and found the Pro Performance Plus from Rapid Eyewear on Amazon. At first I was somewhat skeptical given the relative low cost and was also concerned about purchasing prescription stuff on-line (and from a far away supplier in England).I had some questions about fit and the nature of my prescription relative to the glasses. The questions were answered immediately. The information from my optometrist regarding my pupilary distance (PD) was incorrect, but based on the incorrect information got a recommendation from Rapid Eyewear to forego purchasing their glasses. I much appreciate their honesty. When I got the corrected PD, the conclusion was that the glasses would work with my prescription. On their recommendation, I first ordered the glasses without the prescription lenses to see how they fit and if I otherwise liked them.They fit fine and looked great (far more stylish than the Alpine) so I ordered the prescription insert. Although I was warned that shipment from England to here could take a fair amount of time (up to three weeks), in both cases it took about 10 days from order to delivery.

After having looked at other Rx eyewear, I found a recommendation for these. I was a little skeptical at first, since I wasn't sure about they would work with the Rx lenses and the sunglass inserts separately in front of them. After reading a number of reviews, I ordered them. I initially took them to Lens Crafters, based on someone's suggestion, to have the prescription put in the lenses. Their quote was around $200 with a "discount". The optician connected to my eye doctor put them in for an even $100. Initially they took a little getting used to with the peripheral vision as I did notice, albeit slightly, the edge of the Rx lens. I quickly got used to that, however. Most of the time I use the amber lenses. The dark gray ones don't give enough contrast in the shade. I used the yellow lenses the other day when it was very overcast. Those provided a sharper view than if I had used the clear lenses. Overall I like the option of having the different colored lenses instead of having to choose just one with other Rx cycling glasses. I use it while I'm cycling and the results are very good! It protects the eyes from the wind, don not create transpiration on the face and the different lens are helpfull for the different sunny lights. Great product for those that like this type of sunglusess but have prescriptions lenses.

They work great. Because I need a progressive prescription (to read my Garmin and see the road) I hadn't used wrap-arounds before. I got the lenses put in by an online/mail-in service I've used many times before in the US. At the time of writing I have used them for about two months. They have exceeded expectations and I have several friends now plan to buy them. Really well made and great value for money.UPDATE: I have now had them for over a year, and I guess have cycled about 3,000 miles in them (certainly 1,700 since I got a new bike this year). I am as careful with them as one should be with a pair of glasses, and they have held up fine.

As a cyclist and triathlete, I'd been looking around for prescription sunglasses that provided wrap-around coverage and protection from the sun, the wind and the bugs. Options were limited to extremely expensive sunglasses or "safety glasses" with an Rx insert. Given the inexpensive cost and free shipping, I figured what the heck - I was prepared to be disappointed but would give them a shot. My first pleasant surprise when they showed up in Winnipeg from the UK faster than I have received packages from within Canada! The second pleasant surprise came when I realized that they were the same quality as my current non-Rx sunglasses with similar interchangeable lenses, but at half the cost. I was owed a set of lenses from my optician so the prescription cost me nothing. So far I have used them x-c skiing and they're great. I also use them all the time driving - the polarized lens is fantastic! Can't wait to use them on the bike and have already recommended them to friends of mine.
