Homeschooling for College Credit: A Parent's Guide to Resourceful High School Planning

College bound!
"Homeschooling for College Credit" speaks directly to my past as a homeschooling parent. Most homeschoolers will be comfortable teaching elementary school, but they develop serious questions when thoughts of attending college arise. This guide is a true treasure. The idea of planning resourcefully for college credit while still homeschooling is brilliant. It acknowledges the dedication and effort homeschooling parents put in.I appreciate that it's described as a parent's guide. That's exactly what's needed – clear, practical advice that busy parents can implement. I remember wanting to give my children the best possible start for their future, and this book offers strategies to do just that without necessarily following the traditional school path. This book is a valuable resource for any parent currently homeschooling teenagers and thinking about their college prospects. It offers a roadmap and reassurance that it's possible to provide a rigorous and college-preparatory education at home. It's the kind of information I have gladly shared with other homeschooling families for decades.

A must have to the college prep homeschooler
I purchased this after being in one of the Homeschooling for College Credit Facebook groups. So much useful information there, but I like having a guide in hand, so I’m not constantly searching ( and getting distracted!) online. I first ordered this book through my library’s interlibrary loan, but within one day of picking it up, I came to Amazon to order it. I also went to our head librarian and requested it be purchased for our library. Yes, it is that good!

Homeschooling High School, Understanding and Prepping for College, and Early College in Homeschool
I read the first edition of the book and now the second. The second is way better than the first and completely overloaded with si much wonderful information! This will be revolutionary for the homeschool mom who is, like me, teaching a child-student who is in high school, nearing adulthood, and who wants to go to college. If you think the only way for your child-student to get college credit is to go to college or to go to a high school early college or concurrent enrollment class, you are wrong. There are many ways to earn college credit. This book will show you what all of those are, and will break it down so that you can see which ones are more sure ways and which are less likely ways to get credit at the college your offspring will attend. This will teach you how to communicate with college staff so that you can get the correct answers more quickly. This book will help you very much in helping your child-student in getting ready for, knowing what to expect in, and beginning college with you as their guidance counselor. We can to this, moms! This book will help so many homeschool moms, it will be amazing. This book will change what others think about homeschooling and will help people to see homeschooling as a very viable way to do high school, prepare for college, and maybe get some college credit in homeschooling!

Loads of information. Great resource!
I can't say enough great things about this book. Just a year ago, I heard about tuition-free dual enrollment with a local college. I jumped at the chance. Somehow, I stumbled across Jennifer's HFCC FB page, and discovered there are SO many more options! I am a person that loves to research something and find out all I can. Jennifer is the same. She's been so thorough. I am thrilled that there was someone who did all this work and shared it with us, because at this point in time, I would probably go crazy getting all this information together. I'm teaching 5 children and it would take weeks and weeks to do what she's done. Thank you, Jennifer! If you're interested in saving money on college and/or spending less time "in college" after h.s. then buy this book! I don't think you'll be disappointed. On a side note, on the inside, it may not look like you get as much material as you'd think. The columns are narrower than I've seen before, but it makes for easier reading and the option of making notes in the margins. To me, it was worth the price I paid. It's print-on-demand and was shipped quickly.

Must have!
Literally not even 1/3 through and the information I've read is so reassuring and helpful. Highly recommend this book. The author has left no stone unturned when putting this together. Highly recommend following them on FB also to stay up to date on any changes regarding the topic of this book. So glad I purchased.

Excellent resource for homeschool parents
It might sound a bit dramatic to say this about a planning book, but I couldn't put this book down! I have been homeschooling for almost 13 years and it has been a LONG time since I read a book as helpful as this one. I found the Homeschooling for College Credit page on Facebook and decided to order this instead of reading the information online. I am so glad I did! I'm a little late to the game for my oldest, but he will still be earning a few college credits his senior year. This book is full of resources and ideas. It might clarify some things you have previously heard about or you may learn about options you never even knew existed. The Q&A sections at the end of each chapter is like sitting down and chatting with a friend who has walked the homeschool road ahead of you. I also found the section on transcripts especially helpful. The small amount you spend on this book will save you both time and money!
