BLACK+DECKER Mouse 55W Detail Sander with 6 Sanding Sheets, BEW230-GB

Ive owned two of these now. Lost one in house move. Very simple mouse/detail sander good for upcycling furniture and basic DIY jobs. Can be linked up with a vacuum cleaner to minimise mess and replacing sander pads is very simple. Good starting sander for people just getting into DIY or have odd jobs around the house to do.

Having put this sander through its paces over extensive use, I can confidently say it tackles every single challenge thrown at it without skipping a beat. It is an absolute powerhouse of a tool that completely outclasses its size, proving that you do not need a massive, heavy machine to get serious DIY work done. While this little sander handles heavy-duty workloads beautifully and vibrates with perfect precision, there is one annoying design flaw to watch out for: the built-in dust collection system is rather hit-or-miss. For the extraction port to actually suck away wood debris, the holes punched into your sanding sheet must match up perfectly with the holes on the sander's hook-and-loop pad. Unfortunately, the layout on this Black & Decker model is quite specific. Most budget, third-party pre-cut sanding sheets available on the market have completely different hole patterns. If you use those, the solid parts of the paper block the air vents entirely, leaving you with a face full of fine dust. If you want a clean workspace, you are forced to hunt down official sheets or manually punch holes into generic paper to keep things working properly.

Does a decent job. Shame the pads supplied aren’t up to scratch. Don’t last 5 mins before they fall off. At this rate it will cost a fortune just for the pads. Decent power and design is easy to hold. Might of paid more for one with a dust box tho. Nice little machine for the money shame about the pads.

This arrived today, I am 71 and it was light and easy to use. sandpaper simple to fit. Done my stairs and banisters ready to paint. Really pleased with this great little tool, good value for money much cheaper than cordless and no hassle to plug it in. Happy I bought it

Takes off the top layer of paint ready for undercoat or smoothing down raw wood. I've also used on radiators and walls, so quite versatile. It's not strong enough for big projects more light work. Easy to use, lightweight and vibrations aren't too intense. Sanding disks easy to replace and durability if these depends on the task. Fits in the hand with ease, good ergonomic design.

The performance is solid, especially for the price. The main downside is the cord - it sometimes gets in the way, which can be a bit frustrating. While it’s cheaper than a cordless option, it’s definitely not as convenient since you have to work around the wire. Overall, a great budget-friendly choice for DIY projects and detail sanding, as long as you don’t mind managing the cord!

This is a hero product for sanding. It comes with pads and those last enough. Easy to clean and wire is good length.
