Performs as advertised, would recommend
For those looking into a cheap way to get traction on icy city streets, recommending Yaktrax 👌🏻 They give you peace of mind that you’ll be okay going up/down crazy inclined, icy or black-iced streets. It’s also automatic for packed snow trails. Not to mention, your boots or sneakers don’t get F’d up. I can say they got the job done without messing up these Reds during our trip earlier this year. They’re also easy to put on (probably just need a stable seat at least).

The best traction for most winter conditions
I live in a very snowy part of the UP. These work very well for general snow and ice. They are durable enough to handle tough jobs like pushing a Manplow. The toughest conditions for these are wet sticky snow on top of ice. Then you might want the kind of traction grips with less exposed metal. But for most conditions these work great.

Worked perfect for the icey trails
Such a simple item makes a big difference! Wore these at Hocking Hills state park during one of the coldest, snowy and icy winters we've had in recent years. The trails where a sheet of ice and thanks to these my husband and I stayed upright! No slips and fall! Would recommend

Great alterative to expensive/sharp cramp-ons, but don't last long
We recently traveled to Iceland during the winter and these were absolutely invaluable -- from hiking to just walking around town, our Yaktrax kept us stable and upright. We both fell down at different times when we weren't wearing them. As long as we had these on our feet, we were both as stable and comfortable as could be.The only issue we both faced was longevity. Toward the end of our week-long trip, both our pairs of Yaktrax started to break apart. My wife's completely disappeared on a return hike from a glacier overlook, and mine broke apart and wrapped around my ankles during a hike to a hotsprings. We were able to find a local store that carried them for quick replacements for the last day of our trip, but it was disappointing they didn't last and failed so suddenly and catastrophically. These are a great alternative to heavier spike cramp-ons. They are easier and safer to pack and carry; and easier to put on and take off. However, the trade-off appears to be longevity. If you are going to rely on these for a trip, bring a backup pair!

A must for snow amd ice!
These are the best. I feel so safe when wearing them. I got a pair for a friend for around town on icy days and a pair for me for hiking icy trails. Great for either purpose. Easy on and off. Small enough to caryy so I always have them handy. A life saver.

Must have during winter
These are a must have if you don’t like to fuss with boots during winter. I use these with my walking shoes when it’s a bit icy out and they work great. I also use these on small hikes where it’s mixed ice and snow. Love this product.

Safe walking in snow/ice
Excellent traction. I no longer fear falling. Have given to several family and friends. Only negative is they are hard to get on but worth the small struggle.

Perfect . . . and then not
These went on easily, stayed in place, and just worked. I could walk on snow, ice, or any combination without fear of falling. The Yaktrax gripped precisely and gave me the confidence I need now I’m older and my bones no longer bounce. These can be even be worn (carefully) indoors for short periods unlike the sharp, studded grippers made for pure ice.Unfortunately after 3 weeks of light use, the “springs” began to pull apart and then one snapped beyond repair. What a shame they are not made of better quality as I really thought I’d found something special. As they obviously cannot be relied upon for a couple of months, let alone a whole winter, I now must find something else.
