Works perfectly fine on Windows 8
How to get this working on Windows 8 explained like you're five years old (working on 64 bit confirmed by me):1. Plug in the wireless receiver.2. Go to Device Manager (Guide on how to get to device manager here: [...]).3. Right click the "Unidentified Device" and choose Properties.4. Go to the Driver tab.5. Once in the Driver tab, click on 'Update Driver.'6. Click the second option that says "Browse my computer for driver software."7. Click the "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer."8. Look for Xbox 360 Peripherals (it's the last option on the list).9. Under Model, click "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows Version: 6.2.9200.16384 [7/25/2012]" then click Next.10. A pop up box will tell you that "Installing this device driver software is not recommended" click Yes anyways. You should now be done with installing the drivers! How to sync the xbox 360 controller(s) with the receiver:Make sure the receiver is plugged into any USB slot on your computer and then click the sync button on the receiver. Now Get your Xbox 360 controller and press the sync button on it as well.Hope I helped :]Now for the review:The bottom of the wireless receiver has rubber which makes it sit on my computer comfortably unlike most cheapy made devices that sit awkwardly on the computer case because the USB cord is tugging it away."X 360" print on the top of the receiver makes it an obvious bootleg.Feels nicely made, doesn't feel cheap actually. In a USB 2.0 port, the USB cord of the receiver doesn't stay in very good. In a USB 3.0 port on the other hand, it stays in perfectly.Whenever you unplug the receiver, the driver uninstalls. No problem though, it takes literally 10 seconds to install the driver.

Works. Easy setup (Read Steps)
It's cheap and Isn't plug and play, but it works well after initial setup. Build quality is pretty much the same as my original Microsoft Branded adapter. To get it working do the following (Windows 10):1. Download the Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver Driver and install it.2. Plug in the device.3. Open Device Manager and find the Unknown USB Device that is the receiver.4. Right click the Unknown Device and click properties.5. Navigate to the Driver tab and click Update Driver.6. Select Browse my computer for driver software.7. Select "Let me pick from a list of available drivers..."8. You should see something with a name similar to "Xbox 360 Peripherals", select that and then you should see a bunch of other options, select the "Wireless Receiver for Windows" driver with the newest date. Click next and the rest should be intuitive.9. Profit. Use the receiver like the official one and sync your Xbox 360 device by holding the button on the receiver and the sync button on your controller.I used this device to connect my Xbox 360 Guitar Hero Les Paul and it works flawlessly. It should be compatible with all devices that can wirelessly sync to an Xbox normally.

Works great once setup
The setup for this leaves a little to be desired. You can't use the included software at all as it doesn't work, but the receiver still works.Installation(win7 x64):1. Download and install the "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows" software from Microsoft, this is important because it also includes the wireless receiver drivers.[...]2. Plug in your new receiver3. Open your devices and printers (can be found in the control panel)4. Right-click the "unknown" device that is listed in the "unspecified" category and click "Properties"5. Select the "Hardware" tab6. Click the "Properties" button7. A new window will appear, click on the "Change Settings" button on the general tab.8. This again opens another window, but now you can select the "Driver" tab and you should now have an option available to "Update Driver..."9. Click on "Update Driver..."10. Select "Browse my computer for driver software"11. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"12. Select the "Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class"13. You should now see several xbox options (if you do not then you need to go back to step 1).14. Select the "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows"That should be it, your xbox controller should now be working (may need to synch it). The real key is to get the drivers from Step1 above, as long as you have that installed, then everything should show up correctly as you run through the steps above. If you did not install the microsoft drivers, or have the incorrect version of the drivers then the correct items may not appear in the list when trying to select your controller. It is really quite easy once you have it setup, if you unplug the device you will have to go back through and select the drivers again, but you shouldn't need to redownload them.So setup is kind of a pain, but other than that it has worked great for me.
