SHAMMI KAPOOR (Legends of Indian Cinema)

This is nice book on Shammi Kapoor. I found the style simple. For the size of the book it contained reasonable information about the heartthrob of the 1960's. It also seems to contain a true account of happenings in the star's life. I had seen many episodes of "Shammi Kapoor Unplugged" on the youtube where he himself narrates many of the incidents covered in this book, thus rendering credibility to the book. Most touching were his reminiscences about his wife, the late Geeta Bali. I am also a regular visitor to his website [...] and had an occasion to briefly meet him sometime in the early 1980's and found both him and his wife, Neela Devi, as very pleasant and down-to-earth folks, without any airs. This must have been the period after his spiritual awakening. It almost felt like I have met an elder family member.I enjoyed the book and perhaps other fans would enjoy it too.

Really interesting to read. There are a lot of unknown facts about Shammi Kapoor. Really love it. Great pics too.

For a very judgemental father who pokes holes in everything you buy and doesn't like surprise! But this book was perfect. He was over the moon and lived it.
