This item has become my go to gift for children. The reasons why are, it is GREAT for such a wide age range. But best of all every child I have given it Magformers to LOVE them. I have given now many different variety of boxes, which another plus, the more they have the more things the kids think to build with them. I have seen eighteen month olds to adults create with these. They are almost addictive in figuring out different shapes to build. Another great plus, for parents, it's a mess free toy! It also doesn't take up much storage place since the pieces all stick and stack together.I love giving this toy and the kids I give them to as gifts love getting them. Magformers have also won the Toy Portfolio platinum award. I love that they are expanding colors, shapes and a quality product. Yes, they can be a bit prices and that made me hesitant at first but when I saw children playing with them for hours at a time and all the pluses about the product I was a time and time again purchaser because it was a good toy on so many levels.If you want to give a toy that children won't get bored with, that parents love and a toy that will last then this is it! Hope your children enjoy it as much as all the children I have given it to do!

My kids love these! Whenever their little friends come over, they all play together. All kids are different ages. There ages range from 4-10 and they all enjoy playing with them. I recommend buying more than 1 box.

This is an amazing, wonderful toy - one of my favorites! EVERYONE in my household loves playing with these - my one year old, my three year old, my husband, and myself. They connect quickly and easily, and the structures are very sturdy once they are built. I just purchased 2 more sets because my son wants to build more complex things like cars and helicopters. I disagree with other readers that these are overpriced. I have no problem paying a higher price for toys that are exceptional - and this toy is exceptional! I love how my son uses his imagination to make all kinds of different structures. They are even big enough that he can fit his smaller superhero figures inside. I also love that these are fairly portable. I can put them in a gallon sized ziplock bag and throw them in my purse or diaper bag to entertain my children when we are at church, waiting for an appointment, or headed to Grammie's house. I love buying "grow with me" toys, and this is without a doubt a "grow with me" toy! I can see these lasting for years to come! You will not regret this purchase!

This is a belated review. I purchased this item for my then 2 year old and five year old grandchildren. They loved this set, but started fighting over the pieces. We have since upgraded to a larger 144 piece set and my grandchildren have great fun building together. The 30 piece set is good for one child. If you have more than one child I would recommend a larger set. My grandchildren are now 3 and 6 and they still love the Magformers. I am amazed at the length of time they play with them, and how creative they have become. If these are for younger children, I recommend you watch some of the online videos on the different techniques of building so you can help them get started. My grandchildren have asked for more Magformers for Christmas. They have fun while learning STEM skills and creativity. The two things that I don’t like about them are the expensive price and the enclosed building booklet. The booklet shows objects that you can’t build with a 30 piece set, and the children are disappointed.

The Magformers Rainbow set has been a great addition to my 3 year old collection of imaginative toys. The magnetism among pieces are strong and allows the user to build with ease without it accidentally crumpling apart. While my 3 year old needs some adult assistance to build more of the complex shapes listed in the instruction manual, she still has a fun time play with the set to build simple 3D structures such as cubes and pyramids on her own. I'm giving this 4-stars because of the price point. You do get what you pay for because this is a quality set and the pieces are sturdy enough that the plastic won't break even if it is dropped onto hard surfaces.

Kiddos love playing with this

I was very impressed with the quality, size, and numerous ways these magnetic pieces could be used. Purchased for my almost 2 year old grandson who has some physical challenges working with his hands. These pieces are very colorful, stick well to each other, and allow for many different shapes to be made. Having them magnetic helps tremendously so he feels more in control. These pieces also stick to other metal surfaces which provides him with lots of play and potential. Even my 30-year old son played with them for an hour!!! Very high quality and happy the magnets are totally sealed inside each piece. Would make a great gift for other kids!!!
