Great phone cord
Hey, it's a phone cord. It's black, it stretches, it does not smell, it works just like a phone cord should. Initially hard to believe that anything that can stretch to 12 feet can come in such a small package. I have not tested to see if the cord really does extend to 12 feet but my impression is that it would. I'm not sure what they are referring to when they say "heavy duty" in the description. It doesn't seem any more heavy duty than any other phone cord I own.

Nice quality, finally a phone that will not get yanked off of the desk!
Disconnect the old and in with the new, simple as that. Got tired of the old cord getting tangled in itself and yanking the phone off if its perch--- so this one took care of that no problem. As far as 12 foot length? Not really as the coiled length is much much shorter. The length is more like the standard length of a handset cord, anything shorter will definitely be too short for a regular desk. Took the recommendation of others that the 12' length was similar to what comes with most phones.... and they were right.

Works Great AcCordingly!
So far this is working great. It seems to be made very sturdy, comes wrapped in a plastic sleeve that was a bit tricky to get off (hint: cut of both ends and slit down the length, careful to not cut cord). I've been using it on my desk phone for a few days and it is so much better than the little cord that came with the phone. I've stretched it across to about six feet without it moving the base set. It's about 2 feet in length fully retracked but is not stiff so curls up next to phone nicely. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a bit more cord for sitting mobility. For a kitchen wall phone this would be too short to move around .

Perfect Cord !!
I have had this cord for a little over 3 weeks, and am Very Happy with it. I completes the restoration of my Mickey Mouse Telephone that uses the red AT&T 210 Trimline Push-Button telephone. It works Great, and puts the unit back to what it once was, back in the day !! I would recommend this to anyone.

Just what I was looking for
I recently purchased this heavy duty phone cord as a replacement for one that I purchased at Staples. My previous Staples cord had large spirals that ended up in a tangled mess every time I picked up the phone...even when you try to let it untangle, those large spirals would still tangle. This new cord is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Nice tight spirals don't get loose and jumbled together. Sound is clear and it basically does the job of what I was looking for before I bought the junk from Staples....and it cost me about 50% less money...GREAT! I did see another review that complains about the smell....It does have some odor, but it doesn't seem that bad and I just got it out of the plastic, so I think that will air out and go away soon.P.S. Smell went away.UPDATE 11/3/15: Update. The connection point became weak after 2 1/2 years of use and I would get static when I moved around. OK....I understand and that's OK. So I ordered an new one. Same quality, but only half as long as the original. Quite frankly, I'm surprised that my review from my original purchase is listed in this adv as the length as the new one that I just purchased. The new one is only half as long as the original. It will stretch 12' but without stretching it I measured it at a disappointing 24" of spirals. I'll change my opinion, Don't buy the new one and keep looking.

Good chord!
It's a decent chord. It was pretty tight, at first, but I stretched it out by hand. Now I get the length I want without pulling the phone off the table. I was shocked to find a chord this good at such a ridiculously low price.

Bad, bad idea for a desk phone. BAD idea.
Got tangled in everything it could find to get tangled in, it seemed to seek things out and then tangle itself around them. Pens, coffee cups, wastepaper baskets, even with one of those "detangler" attachments at EACH END of the cord, it was a nightmare to deal with. Threw it away and got a much shorter one, and just suffer with having to say "Pardon me I have to set the phone down for a sec, be right back" and then set the receiver down once in a while. It's MUCH easier. If your phone is attached to the WALL and at eye level, this might work great for you. But I bought this for a desk phone and regretted it the first day. Kept trying to make it work, bought "detanglers" as I've said above, but for a desk phone it's a horrid idea. Binned it.
